Another 10-Loss Season...

we brought the sanctions on ourselves. we didn't catch the flu. we caused the flu. not an excuse.

JB was talking about how good the team was going to be pre-season.
If you remember, that was at the time we knew Battle was back, Hughes was being lauded by the alumni players and Frank was burning the nets before his injury.
Oh, and add that Jalen was being looked at as a contributor along with a sharp shooting Buddy.

Some came true, other pieces not so much.
I still think Frank’s regression as a PG and in attacking off the bounce has hurt us the most. Even more so than not having an offensive threat at center. We’ve overcome that before (see Baye and Rak in 2012-2013).

Absolutely. And, we traditionally, have never really relied on our centers to be big time scorers for us, but more or less be that presence/anchor the zone on the defensive end. There's no doubt that the PG position is by far the most critical in the game. All guard play really...as your guards go, so does your team go.

The main reason UVA has been so tough over the past few years is because of their stellar guard play. Hunter, no doubt, is excellent and will be in the NBA next year, but Guy and Jerome is what makes UVA what it is. Same with Perrentes and Brogden from a couple years ago.
