He was one of the guys singled out about not buying into the program IIRC in a presser and didn’t see much time after that

I liked Sparrow, but an open scholarship just gives Fran Brown and staff the potential to upgrade the roster / LB position.

Open scholarships = opportunities for this staff.

He’s not running from anything, he’s moving on to his next opportunity and hopefully a grad degree.

Agree I like this. I wonder if there are certain situations where this will happen vs not. Anwar leaving with a degree and wanting to get playing time on his way out seems fair. And a good reward for the season.

I’m sure some portal guys won’t want to play but it’s nice for the guys who do.

Agreed. Whatever his faults, love to watch him see things out.

Believe he got dinged up late in the Miami game. This would also suggest it wasn’t that bad.

Got to believe that because he got his degree and is leaving solely for more playing time and is essentially being recruited over that Fran is letting him play.

I really respect this decision from HC Fran Brown.

It just seems he’s making a lot of “right” decisions.

I can’t wait to see the legacy he builds here
