Anwar Sparrow withdrawing from portal

Look for Ian Mcdaniels to make a big jump as a redshift freshman, got a good number of snaps in the bowl game. A full spring and summer to get from 200 to about 215-220.
With his size 6-3, 4.4 speed and 42 in vertical you are talking Tebucky Jones measurables.
That kind of safety can cover up a lot of mistakes.
i agree just really wanted a clark type to deal with the speed and experience that we are going to have to deal with next year.

Clark is over rated.

I noticed the same thing. Kid is rangy and fast. Made a bunch of plays in the bowl game. I think he was playing corner [Edit] along with Kerr, and it looked like Perry and Delaine were lined up at safety along with Martin and Long. Still want Barnes back and, if not, we're going to need a lock down corner and a fast experienced safety to have any chance of slowing down the offenses on next year's schedule.

Honestly I think our oline will be fine.

I think that McCord getting the ball out consistently on-time and LeQuint getting a lot of yards after contact combined to make the OL performance look better than it was.

I also think we're probably going to need 7 OL and 8 DL who can handle a meaningful amount of important snaps to get through next year's schedule OK. Guys are going to get banged up in the trenches going up against that schedule, it's inevitable. We need some backups who are almost as good as the starters, and I think both lines need to be better than they were this year. Obviously some guys getting bigger, stronger, and more experienced will help. But I was hoping for at least a couple impressive portal players on each line.

But with his size and speed hope Fran moves him to Safety. Darius and Jones at safety made life miserable for receivers and Tight Ends who came over the middle.
That's something Mcdaniels can bring to the table.

i think that once we stopped doing as much zone stuff and started running power and counter we were much better than in beginning. Some hole that we have had in last 4 to 5 games have been pretty big as opposed to beginning of the year.

I think the corners are a pretty big loss, considering we lose Lewis to eligibility as well.

But yeah, comparatively speaking, I think we've probably held onto talent better than most.
Yeah and that secondary during the bowl game… yikes.

The Gould / Bellamy thing is interesting. I believe they’re best friends and with them both going to the same school that was clearly planned. Wonder what the trigger was for it? Maybe one or the other not getting the warm and fuzzies on starting next year?
Gould never seemed comfortable with assignments and did not play much. Bellamy is a loss. If they want to play together it likely won’t be P4.

Both already announced they are heading to the BIG 12 and Scott Frost - UCF.

Both transferred to UCF which is in the Big 12.

Tbh we haven’t really lost much in the portal at all. Everyone we have lost was kinda ehhhh anyway, other than Bellamy and Barnes. Good foundation and culture being set right now.

I’ll be happy with a corner and maybe defensive end in the portal. Tbh I think that’s all we need at this point with Reed coming back at center most likely
I think we need a lot more than that.

Yes, but officially in the portal regardless of the reason why.
I think he was just listing players from the current roster.

yes, very cryptic
These guys aren't Journalists. It's entirely possible we can use his most obvious meaning. He may not have meant to be cryptic.

Then again, he probably has an agent and has spent four years in college. Hopefully his writing skills are adequate to communicate a meaning if he wanted.
