Anyone know what’s up with SUfootball NIL

Just searching the Boise State website, the main things that come up are Micron School for Materials Science and Engineering and Micron Student Success Center

This is what they do. There will 100s of posts on the board going forward hoping for a silver bullet that isn't likely to come. They have different priorities.

The important "fact" here is that Micron's philanthropy is aimed at supporting educational and workforce development. We are not likely to see financial support beyond those goals. It's a different culture.
This. They are not going to rename the dome or support NIL.

However, we may attract smaller support manufacturers that would be willing to invest in their brand locally.

Definitely appears to be the case. The only athletics thing I could find was one of the early Micron investors was a significant BSU athletics booster.

I will say this, revenue sharing is different than NIL.

The stuff that SUfootball NIL is doing has to be done outside of Syracuse.

Syracuse can only be responsible for 20 million of money to players across ALL sports.

Most of these big NIL deals you are seeing are happening through the collectives. They are as important if not more important than revenue sharing
And your last paragraph prompts me to say, again, that is a structural problem with ncaa sports and must be fixed by legislation and fierce enforcement.

“Can” isn’t “will.”

I can go get one of those fancy AI jobs in the Bay Area. I have the resume to and I’m kinda proud of that. But for a bunch of reasons I would eat every single one of my many SU hats before I would do it.

Maybe we lose Fran maybe we don’t. I’m not going to worry about it.
And I don't think that had anything to do with leaving here , but getting in the playoffs, and being sent anywhere to play.

Blair's first, second and third order of business (after hiring the hoops HC) is to get SU's compensation situation sorted out. There's nothing more important.

I'm deeply disappointed in so many of our big money boosters. They're proving that they are not Syracuse fans (and have been proving that for several years now). Rather, they are (a) fans of themselves, and (b) fans of a select group of others.

Rich people are constantly aggrieved. Such hyper-sensitive babies.
Do we still have Cliff Ensley onboard? Isn’t he one of our big whales?

Look at all the "special advisors" at Bama over the years. Nowhere close to a sure thing to immediately get re-hired. Using it as a drum to beat up Fran is weird to me.
I’m not beating him up. I hope he succeeds at SU and does whatever he wants with his future whether at SU or not.

I actually like the guy and think he can be a good to great coach. He just took an unconventional path to his first head coaching opportunity.

Does anyone know if SU has reached out to Micron ? They're going to a 100 billion dollar in the next 12 months. I couldn’t imagine being any more fortunate having this company being here in CNY. 10-20 million annually would be chump change to them
But, I'm hearing Micron really, really wanted Lyke to be the next AD, so now they might be going to Providence, RI instead.

I can't confirm if Syracuse brought NIL in house, but most universities eliminated collectives and brought the management of NIL in house last year. I'm surprised Syracuse hadn't done it already.
To be honest, we got all the top schools to look at and learn from. We should run it how they do.

I know this isn't the thread for this, but... that approach is as it should be.

Totally agree, anyone who thinks we are last stop is silly. Hopefully we do everything we can to keep him as long as possible (assuming he has success). However he has some major coaching malpractice mistakes to wash away from last year, especially around the qb situation. High level teams should be able to complete a forward pass when starter goes down.
I believe what he said. If we get the ship straight he will stay.

Arkansas just signed an agreement with Tyson Foods. LSU with Woodside Energy. Maybe it's time for SU and Wegmans. ;)
