Anyone been? We were supposed to go to
England (yes, in January. Futbol trip.) but called an audible because, you know, COVID. We leave tomorrow.

We don’t have anything planned aside from when we’re going and where we’re staying.

Any recs? We’re staying at an all-inclusive.

CDC lists Aruba in their highest risk group for Covid. I’m sure you’ll be spending most time outdoors so should be fine. I’d eat outdoors whenever possible.

been the past 3 years and am going again in March. Where are you staying? Dont worry about the level 4 thing the CDCless puts out. Its fine

We've been looking but someone said all the Venezuelan refugees (?) is a problematic. I assume in the resort/touristy areas around Eagle Beach, it's not a problem?

We went like ten years ago. Great beach and we had a good time but not my favorite island. Just a little too commercial and crowded for us and we like other islands better but I can see why a lot of people go back every year. We stayed at the Divi Phoenix Beach Resort. Nice place on a nice quieter piece of beach.

You will not have any issues. I’ve literally been the last three years and I’ve never had a problem. We stayed at Divi all inclusive which is great. We go back in March I am actually staying at the Divi Phoenix. Aruba is awesome 85 every day 15 mile an hour breeze it’s no wonder they call it one happy island

LeMoyneCuse - Taste My Aruba (sounds touristy, but was amazing)

Loved Lucy's bar
we did a pirate ship on a sunday (was like 60 bucks for all you can drink with a meal)

GO TO DUTY FREE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE ARUBA AIRPORT AND BUY BOOZE/WHATEVER ELSE THERE

this is a must. We didn't (kinda of were quickly guided out of the airport) and meant to grab a bottle of rum (to bring to the beach and such)

Captain was 70 bucks at the store. It was 21 at Duty Free lol

*edit - was there in April for our honeymoon so capacity at places was like 60% of what it probably normally is.

Just booked a week at the end of August. Staying at the Hyatt on Palm Beach. When the travel date gets closer, I'll be looking for tips on transportation to/from airport, inexpensive restaurants, excursions, etc. At this moment, all its costing me is like $65 in Southwest Airlines fees against hotel and travel estimated at about $5200. I have more rewards points than I can use.

I always tell everyone that the best pizza I ever had was from Pizza Hut in Aruba. I think it was because they use Gouda cheese, but it was so good. Also, we went on a snorkel charter with Octopus snorkel and as a snack (along with free drinks) was like a buttered french bread with gouda cheese that was out in the hot sun all day, so it was melted almost like a grilled cheese sandwich. It was so good. If you have a fridge in your room, there are some supermarkets, probably within walking distance of your hotel, that you can stock up on breakfast and lunch supplies. The bread in Aruba is really good. Plus, we always hit up the Duty Free at the airport on our way down and get a couple bottles for the hotel room/beach. We also bring some powdered lemonade that we mix with our Vodka and bring some tervis like drinking containers for our drinks at the beach. And we always hit up Duty Free on the way back to stock up the liquor cabinet at home.

Thanks. This is a family trip with my wife and two sons (who'll be 12 and 9 at the time). So I think the duty free may have slightly less importance for us. ;) The grocery store will certainly come in handy and the snorkling is something I will investigate for sure.

there are cabs everywhere once you get outside the airport. Standard rate last time was like $26 (plus tip) to get to our hotel Same going back. I would also do the ATV tours. Your kids will enjoy that a lot.

1985 first trip to Aruba ,2020 last of 5 trips sure has changed since the first trip.

Bumping this as my sister and I just booked a spur of the moment trip to Aruba for the first week of April, partly because we decided against going to the Bahamas for the tournament back in November. We are staying at Bucuti, which from what I can tell is a little removed from the main touristy area, but still walking distance to a casino and a few other things. It's also advertised as a great romantic experience, so I'm sure my sister and I will love that. Anyone ever stayed there? I could honestly get by with drinking and reading on the beach or pool all day, every day, but would love any more insight into great food options or activities to do (preferably ones that aren't all-day events as I'm sure my stomach will have me seeking the refuge of our hotel bathroom more often than I care). Obviously, things to stay away from are also good to know.

Sorry, can’t help myself

I will be in aruba from 3-17 till 3-24. Bucuti is on eagle beach and its near all the divi resorts and i think there may be another one that is a little closer. There is a casino which will be about a 10 minute walk from there. You are kind of in the middle of the low rise all inclisives and the high rise hotels. Nice area.

I would do an atv tour. You get to ride them all on the one side of the island that is uninhabitable and its a nice 4-5 hour break for your liver.

This will be our 4th year in a row going. I love aruba. You will enjoy it. 85 and sunny with a 15 mph breeze every day

Pm me with any questions as i know aruba, travel requirements, etc pretty well.

Thanks, my man. Might hit you up. Been looking at the golf courses but they don’t seem to be all that nice. Is it dependent on the season, or are they really just not that nice other than some of the views? The ATV thing sounds awesome.

Depends on your standards! But I’m her brother.

Yeah she’s hot. And single. And she pays for all these trips for me.

CuseTroop met her a few years ago in the Bahamas and at some of the Georgetown games in DC. Not that he’d remember.
Pays for all your trips? How did you convince her to do that?

I’ll be in Aruba on Tuesday for a day - cruise ship. Any recommendations for stuff to do on that short of a stay?

To be honest the ATV tour is the only thing. I mean unless you just want to get off, shop, have some drinks, hit a beach, etc.

I remember her being extremely awesome.
