As someone said earlier, the last week has been the most fun being a Syracuse football team since 5 minutes before the USF game. Everyone smells hope and when the perceived leader is someone that seems similar, resume wise, to our disposed leader, then we get irrational (on a message board where irrationality pays the bills)

I was not against Ash so much as I was for Dino Babers. He recruits PA, NY, Fl, has mid-west ties that we have been part of in recent years, he has improved teams he has gone to, even ones that were good when he arrived, he is a head coach, honest, good with the press and one I would consider a step forward from what I thought was a dedicated, but in over his head former head coach at Syracuse, Mr. Shafer. If this is the direction we go in then I will be happy. HOWEVER, we will need to allow him the budget to bring in coaches that equally can help us take that next step.
Would love to see him keep Acosta, Daoust in some capacity with possibly Daoust getting a shot at defensive coordinator if he is ready, I said if. Lester has proven himself an asset and if he can learn systems and implement them then he too may be an option to keep on staff. Keeping some or all of the previously mentioned could help Babers transition and help with current recruits that have given their verbal.
I also hope in the end if he comes that we can announce he was our first choice and that we only were honoring his desire and focus on his current championship run in the MAC. It would show character by Mr. Coyle and confidence in our program's standing.
I hope for a news conference Saturday afternoon because part of the firing of Shafer early was to get someone in place ASAP to aid in this recruiting cycle that ends the 13th and also to line up assistant coaches.

It's not about the rumors per se. It's some posters saying 99 times in 99 threads that our AD is an idiot, a fool, a clown or any other word they can come with and taking as fact what the rumors said. He's made one offer, to Frost. His top target. Now after knowing the facts, he was smart not to cave in. Everything else has been interviewing or talking to potential candidates. Exactly what any good AD would do.

I never once called Coyle any of those names, but I will admit that I bit, hard, on the rumors and lambasted the perceived notion that we were offering less than what I believed was market value. My apologies for that and not having the patience to wait this thing out.

I'd argue since whenever mcnabb's final game was in '98 ... but 5 mins before the usf game works too.

The BC game to get bowl eligible in 2013 was one of the most fun games I have been to as a fan. Place was jumping.

So glad I was there. Top 10 I ever had at a game watching CUSE beat West Virginia to a pulp, the snow was awesome, the friends with me was the best and the score..., oh the score, not to forget the drive back in a van with a dozen crazes! Still laughing my *&%# off.
