Thamel usually knows what he's talking about, so disappointed not to see Chadwell or Mullen on there-They'd be slam dunks. I like White, but think he is a tough sell now as a DC of a 5-6 team. I also hope Wildhack doesn't force an SU alum hire like Austin, who has been out of the college game for a while.

I said I'd let the season play out. I remember JW saying at one time that making bowls was important but so was showing progress year over year. We were 7-5 last year. Once we couldn't get to 7-5 that was it. We win last night he would have survived to see another day. Now we need to fully support the new coach. And in today’s world that means NIL. Don’t recall thinking or saying that was an absolute. Really can’t be with the fall portal. But those coaches aren’t coming here absolutely. My guess is Tony gets announced ina few day

Sellers is a true freshman and Lamson has looked awful at Stanford.

If our entire season’s success rides on one player who doesn’t have a suitable backup - you think that’s acceptable for a guy making $4m a year?

I agree, with a note of caution. CDRW was a good chance to take, and might even work out when he calms down. But I think the program needs to look at what happened with Sellers’ recruitment. Again, no matter who walks in the door, we have to be able to win that kind of recruiting situation. I continue to believe it was $ and until and unless that is “fixed” it won’t matter who is hired.

God forbid someone should post that Dino is a nice guy. It immediately forces sone knee-jerk post about his W/L record. Or snarky post about how “you must have wanted to retain him.” Relax people. Two things can be true at the same time. We all know the facts about the last 8 years, AND Dino is a good guy.

I’ve had to layoff plenty of nice people. It’s never easy. He can be nice and less than adequate in his job.
