in what way? just because it worked doesnt mean it was super complex.
they mostly run 2x2 or 3x1, the QB for the most part had 4-5 secs to throw which gives the WR tons of time to rework the routes.
the 27 td run, 2x2 wide the MLB who has one thing to do runs outside and simple handoff up the middle.
the 24 td run, 3x1 wide the MLB who has one thing to do runs outside and simple handoff up the middle and the RB make the safety miss
the long td pass 3x1. the 1 WR beats the DB and just runs straight down the field.
the 2nd long td pass 3x1. the outside guy beats the db off the line and runs straight down the field.
the 3rd long td pass, the most complex of all. 3x2 inside slot runs by the db and scores.
if you want to say the 4wr-5wr set stresses the D and left them in single high, then yes, but the routes were not complex in the least, all the scores came on straight streak passes. the underneath guys often dont even run a route. they dont even bother with play action much of the time.
we have run this same route with Estime 7-8 times the last 3 weeks, he has gotten more PI calls than catches, he cant get by the DB and create and room for throws and he has more drops than catches. its the same pass we are throwing its just doesnt work for us. the throws are not that bad but there is little room for error.
we have 2 WR, lewis everyone complains is too slow and we dont even have a 4th-5th we want to put on the field most of the time. phillips has been put in these spots and drops the ball half the time our bounces it off his head.
if we had a clear #1 wr with deep play ability then move Ish and Estime down to the 2-3 WR and had phillips as the 4th i think you could run these sets thats makes lewis the under 5th guy. right now he is the running as the 3.
do we have a WR coming in next year better than lewis , cause thats what we need.
