BC Postgame Stuff...

Coach Fran’s results and ages of coaches

Losses:
Troy Taylor (BC)-56
Pat Narduzzi (Pitt)-58
Bob O’Brien (BC)- 55
Average Age: 56.3

Brent Key (GT)-46
Dan Curran (Holy Cross)-48
Barry Odom (UNLV)-47
Dave Doeren (NCST)-52
Brent Pry (VT)- 54

Fran may need a Doug Marrone type as an analyst/consultant by his side for games against older, but mostly average/above average coaches.

I don’t think UConn is a given. I’m not saying we can’t beat them, but I also don’t think we can’t lose to them. This team has been so up and down this year. I hope they get one full well played game because we haven’t seen it yet.
We already have six wins. Bowl eligible already. The only way to get ranked is to beat Miami. It is too hard for the team as it is. So beating UConn is not that important.

This feels like one of the biggest wasted seasons in Syracuse history...I really don't know when we'll have anything like the favorable conditions of this schedule and roster ever again. We should have 1 loss and be a win against Miami away from the ACC championship game. Now we'll be lucky to be barely .500 next year. Indiana is having the season we should be having in almost exact circumstances. Just so disappointing
Thinking that we should be in the same spot as Indiana is a wild take. We have a new coach with 0 years of HC experience (Cignetti at IU is a seasoned HC with 10+ years HC experience). People who thought that we would be competing for playoff/ACC championship were living in La La land. Gonna take some time with Fran unfortunately, but that’s the risk you take when you go outside the box.

At this point in Fran’s young head coaching career I think we would need a 1.25x talent advantage to beat seasoned coaches like Narduzzi (barf) and O’Brien on the road. They are way ahead of him at this point.
Coach Fran is 1-3 against coaches who would get accepted to a 55+ residential community. I think there is something to this as well, perhaps those coaches feeling extra motivated all week to ensure they don’t lose to the new coach on the block.

I know we lost to Stanford and struggled with Holy Freaking Cross but U Conn stinks, we better smack them around. Cal will be tough and Miami now has zero margin for error . Today was our best chance to get us to win 7 of 8, and didn’t happen. Gotta beat Cal.

This is one of those 100% meaningless pieces of data .

If we don’t go 8-4, this season is disappointing imo
8-4 is my benchmark too. We still can get there but @ Cal will likely be harder to win than @ BC. We need to win one of those two and then beat UConn. This was a kick in the ... well you know what today but the team better bounce back next week.

Died Heard play today? I’m not sure I heard Diggs name until the late block penalty.

Not in the box score, but road box scores are always messed up for at least a day.

I'm not that confident but this idea that the only game left we can win is UCONN is bananas.
I’m honestly not convinced that UCONN is even a guaranteed win. Sure we probably win but would you be shocked if they came in to that game playing like it was there Super Bowl and won 31-28 to this POS defense?

Stalled out 4 times in the first half and two turnovers by guys who don’t.

I get ERob isn’t Bud Foster but the offense needs to be better.
The offense scored 31 points that should be plenty to beat a BC team that played their backup qb for half the game.

I’ve accepted that in this era of college football with constant transferring, coaches moving around, NIL etc that there’s going to be a lack of consistency when it comes to virtually everything. 18-23 year olds were already inconsistent but now it’s even that much more of a wildcard.

Last week I said we’ll beat Va Tech because football. This week I had a bad feeling and thought ah maybe we lose to BC because football. Next week we beat Cal. Why? Because football.

Also, every team in the ACC can beat each other on any given week.

Does all this make the lack of consistency less frustrating? Of course not. But with what I illustrated above combined with a first year head coach it helps to explain where things are currently.

Oh we need a defensive, seasoned coach to be an analyst for Elijah?
