Yup. And the lead story on ESPN, announced by Schefter is that he is the new HC at UNC. It will be a new look for the ACC and college football in that it will be a feeder system for the NFL with a general manager and other staff to handle things like the NIL for Bill.

"The ACC will not be per wandering around in the dark" with this hire per Michael Wilbon. An NFL factory to prepare everyone for the NFL. It will be very interesting to see how Belichick sets this all up and the BIG10 and SEC better be watching. The best talent will be heading to the ACC and Tar Heel country. I do not think the new HC is looking for HS talent - he's in the portal state of mind and the best transfer talent and eventually the NFL will be the recipients of his products.

College football is going to change and will benefit from his tenure there as everything will be a great opportunity for not only players but bringing in staff to handle and run NIL and everything else - a college team like a professional one.

I think he is a great coach. No doubt he will run circles around the other coaches with Xs and Os. But CFB has a lot of non FB stuff that a HC needs to navigate. He will be awful at that.

Also it isn't like he was a great at the NFL draft. If he cannot tell that Mac Jones isn't the 15th best player in the draft, how can he pick a HS QB?

His players tended to be high FB IQ guys who were hard workers. He would chose that over pure talent. CFB is all about explosive players, otherwise Army and Navy would be in the playoffs every year.

I think his biggest struggle will be dealing with players who don't really know FB yet. His expectation of what a player should know will be way off to what these kids actually know. What he thinks is basic and a given will be entirely new to most kids. He will have to severally dumb down his FB communication to get through. I see that frustrating the heck out of him.

Agree. I think this works if he can get a bunch of juniors and seniors to transfer. A three year deal maybe confirms that’s the approach or he just cares about setting up his son with the job after. will be interesting to see how he deals with lane kiffin and sec programs tampering with his guys and getting them to transfer during spring ball. Not sure he’s ready for this.

It’s good for the acc I agree. We will see what ultimately happens. FB has shown that recruiting and connections still matter.

We’ll see what he puts together down there. If he gets the donors to buy in and you give arguably the greatest coach of all time a big budget to bring kids that he wants, I could see it having some success. Going to be an interesting watch regardless.

Belicheck had a great run but his career as any form of head coach is over and if somehow he lands a gig at UNC, it will not last 1 year. If he wants to be a part of football he should move to the front office or get paid crazy money as a team consultant.
