Best nicknames

I’ve been passing the time watching a lot of old Syracuse games and being reminded of many players who have donned Orange. What are some of your favorite nicknames over the years? I feel like nicknames help build a connection and sense of history.

Here are some of mine (I do not consider names like GMac, DC, DNic etc. nicknames. Those are just shorter versions of the player’s names):

In terms of nicknames that took on a life on the board, my personal favorites have been Shaky Potatoes, Salt Badger, and 8 Mile. 8 Mile was great because the counterpart at the time on the football side was The Real Slim Shadle.

I do take pride in Thickburger. That's had a lot of staying power and survived a board migration. Its notoriety and controversy feeds the legend. Some people love it, other people hate it.

I'll probably mention that I coined Thickburger in my obituary.
