Lower Merion beat Marple Newtown 74-34 today.... BJ had 8 points.
He only played the 1st quarter as the game started out 25-3.
I assumed something of the sort based on the margin and opponent, but couldn't find a box score with minutes to confirm that. What led me to post that was I was looking for yesterday's game result and found the Aces website and I had written a post to mention his 19 points against Penncrest, which is the last thing reported on that website, but then realized it was from almost a week ago.
Anyway for those that want to keep tabs, albeit maybe not the most current tabs, on BJ and his team, this website may be of interest. www.aceshoops.com

Cool. thanks
He is an excellent rebounder on the defensive and offensive glass.
And there it isWelcome to the board ! You'd better temper your enthusiasm, though, Mr. Johnson. It's going to be very tough competition for B.J. to get meaningful minutes next year, even though he sounds like a very talented kid.
I just hope B.J. is in it for the long haul, and realizes that part of the college experience is that things don't always go your way, and you're going to face some adversity before you're done. Even Dion Waiters came off the bench and nearly transferred out. There are going to be many competitors for playing time, and all of them will be more physically mature than B.J.
The number 1 thing to get on the floor for Boeheim is that you have to be able to defend and rebound your position if you are 6-7 plus, you can't make mental errors, or not hustle. Good luck to you and your son. We will enjoy watching him play, I'm sure. Welcome to the Orange family !!

Great to hear. The game against St. Frances on the 27th should be a good one. Hopefully BJ gives Dwayne Morgan the biz haha. I see their playing my old my HS St. Raymond's in WV. Ray's is real young this year but have a couple of talented youngins but I think LM should be able to handle them.
Mr. Johnson, we are definitely excited to have BJ on board. It has to be incredibly exciting for you and your family to have BJ playing at such a prestigious program. You must have missed his 25pts and 12reb performance tonight against some 18th ranked team called st francis 73-62. You don't know us too well, thanks.
Don't even sweat it, Bobby. I would chalk it up to good intentions, ie, the welcoming part. You must have missed his 25pts and 12reb performance tonight against some 18th ranked team called st francis 73-62. You don't know us too well, thanks.

Point is, we support you, and for those who might be under this category, you can go to a specific profile and there is a link to "ignore". Just remember, you will have to log on to not see those posters.
I feel that having this stiff competition is good for the team, and as talented a group of guys we have coming in next year, it's not for anyone to say who will and won't start. BJ could earn it. CJ could earn it. Grant could earn it, etc.
Oh, and it's not for anyone to say except this guy:
Or maybe this guy:
That's the kind of positive vibe we're looking for.Very good post, part of being a member of a forum is speculating about will and won't play, but just because BJ isn't as highly regarded coming out as some others in our recruiting class, that doesn't mean he won't show up on campus and outperform somebody that we didn't expect him to right out of the gate. In addition there are also injuries and a variety of other potential reasons that could open up playing time that we don't expect at this point. Lets just be happy we have a very talented kid I the fold that is still just developing his game. Can't wait for the kid to hit campus.

Congrats on the victory. It's good to see that BJ plays his best ball against the top competition that he has faced so far. St. Frances defeated Travis(Harrison twins) so this is indeed a very big win for LM. Did BJ and Dwayne Morgan matchup up at all during the game? Good luck against St. Joseph and the Notre Dame commit on Saturday.LM 73 St. Francis 62 BJ led the way with 25pts and 12rebs.

Out of my own personal curiosity, what was it about SU that drew B.J. here? I'm always interested in how people got where they ended up and what it was about one school that put them over the top.
BJ has always liked the Cuse since he was a little guy and always wanted to play for them. His favorite team. You would find him watching the Cuse on tv if nothing else.
