Branding

they hated the uniforms when they were good bad and indifferent. they're *cking shirts. i can hate my friend's Georgetown shirt without changing my opinion of the friggin person wearing the shirt.

i find you to be very exacerbating

Well my first post got zapped - probably fair as I used some choice words.

I'll just leave it at: exacerbating and exasperating are interchangeable. Both roughly mean irritating...

It's not a uniform, but it is similar.

Lite Beer from Miller has gone back to the traditional logo, script and can.

Why?

During the Green Bay - Dallas game, the Fox broadcast continued throughout the game to show clips from the Ice Bowl - while juxtaposing clips from the Sunday game. It worked because the two teams look just as they did in the 1960s.

Branding.

Sending a consistent and recognizable message.

That's what the Nike approach - which has really homogenized the college look - everybody looks very much the same - fails to recognize.

Nike is building a consistent and recognizable image- for NIKE, not the schools they have contracts with.

If GRoB had those guys in shape and they won a lot of games, those uniforms would be sweet.

Another myth. You won't find a lineman we've ever had that had wash board abs. Well maybe a couple of the thinner ones. Ever seen any of them in tshirts? You can get to 300 pounds or close to it without a football gut. And they are horrible even if we were 12-0. Not even the right orange.

Not a myth. I have a close relative who was on the team. He said GRob would chastise the S&C coach for working the guys too hard. My relative would be like "What"?

And I've known plenty of players and parents who thought the kids busted their butts including the 530am runs in the winter.

And there are times to back off. Marrone did it often.

Besides, what you said doesn't change the fact that most all our OL regardless of coach have guts. Same with every college. You don't get to 300 pounds or even close and don't have a gut. It would be the rare player.

I don't care if they have guts. Of course they do. Many OL have guts and are still in shape (muscle too). Not those guys.

The relative is a close one. Great kid. He was a Robinson recruit. He had no respect for Robinson's attitude toward S&C. I trust his opinion on it as he lived it.

And I trust those I know, great kids. But glad to see you admitted OL have guts. That's not what you implied or said at first.

Rare, as in one Douglas Marrone? I don't think you'll find a picture of him with a gut (when he was a player).

Does anyone else think this (branding) is overly complicated?

Haha... they had guts and were out of shape due to GRob's inattention.

The players I've known would take offense to that implication.
