is a bit scary... situations like today where a team is trapping or pressing to try and get back into the game, the Philly boys are our best option... even end of the game situations, we're best off with SJ and DW... Brandon is good for a nice little streak of buckets here and there, but just too much of a liability late in games

His hand injury doesn't appear to be affecting his shooting much but you are right, he is definitely having some problems with ball handling. Likely a factor in why he is not playing late in games recently. Hope it heals quickly.

This is not a new problem for BT. Plagued him since he got here. i am blown away that anyone wonders why he isnt in games late (except for when we are looking for some FTs). massive liability.

Its like people dont actually watch the games.

Not a new problem, but he was trying to do too much dribbling into traffic last night. Not his game. He contributes in other ways.
As for closing out games, I agree -- BT is fine when the opponents need to foul in the backcourt. When we are trying to run clock and penetrate, you want the guys who are good at that. JB knows what he is doing.

He has become a massive overdribbler. Actually the guy who has the best instincts on the team against pressure is MCW. Not saying that all of the sudden he should be on the court in crunch time, but he does have the best natural feel in my opinion.

MCW has great instincts/vision for passing. He has some work to do in handling the ball when pressured. Needs to be stronger and not dribble so high.
He isn't the quickest guard around. The kid has very high potential, but at this point he needs to be paired with a combo guard who can handle (Dion is perfect).

...yup, now who is better Scoop or BT...next year it will be MCW or BT...or BT vs. Waiters...no wait...he goes NBA...but really, BT did not have a good game...some old bad habits came back and that is concerning...question is how bad is the hand really and has he regressed? (Tristy--not always gung ho on BTs play)

I was thinking the exact same thing...

I don't believe BT has regressed. He is streaky -- prime example of a player who can have a good half and a bad half based on whether he is feeling it with his outside shot. He is contributing on the boards and on defense. He is usually solid as a finisher in transition. The issue with BT is trying to do too much with his dribble, which tends to happen when he is not paired with Scoop.

I thought he was trying to throw the game at the end. Scary if Waiters or even Jardine aren't available in late game situations.

He just isn't that good. He is decent at everything but doesn't stand out in any area. Decent shooter...decent passer...maybe better than decent defender...
I was hoping that by this point the area where he would stand out would be just in sheer 'solidness'. He'd be the guy that you knew wouldn't and would make the right decision. Unfortunately that hasn't happened. I still think he is generally speaking better than Scoop but they are pretty close. Dion clearly is in another league and from a talent perspective so is MCW (i know he has to get stronger).

Well, he is good, as a team-player. He can be very good at moving the ball; very good but streaky as a shooter; can help on the boards; our best FT shooter; very good in transition. People are disappointed if they expected him to get better year over year -- he was strong and skilled when he arrived.

The challenge has been getting BT to do what he does best, adding a mid-range pull-up jumper and a runner, and limiting his tendency to get into trouble with his dribbling. And, then, keeping his confidence up.

I think the dissapointing thing is, many of us thought BT could be a point guard, but it is clear he is just another combo guard. Point guards penetrate and dish. I can count on two hands how many times I've seen BT get into the teeth of the defense and set a teammate up with a bucket.
