Interview on 60 Minutes tonight with 'Bron's agent, Rich Paul. They didn't mention Bronny, but I'd bet the house on Rich being involved after watching that interview.
I haven't seen him take less than the maximum yet, when flexibility on his part could have built better rosters for the Lakers, to have a better chance of winning. He's been paid $50M+ on his current contract per year, and they pay a similar amount to Anthony Davis. That's 2/3 of the cap amount, on 2 guys. How many elite guys have deferred money these days? I don't recall James being one of them, but I could be wrong.
I think there are two camps, those that don't care and those who are irrationally angry. Is it OK to not care about this at all? Cause I really don’t.

Wow, and I thought I went back too far with my Memorex reference in another thread! LolOld Guy Reference Alert:

Been a Laker fan for almost 40 years. This is will be the first year I will not be rooting for them. Bron and Rich Paul (along with the Lakers inept front office) are ruining the franchise.I mean I hate to come off and ruin this kids moment. But like the only reason he got drafted was to make his dad happy and stay in LA. He had a player option. The lakers have now hired his podcast cohost as Coach and drafted his Son. Even though he took that meeting with the 76ers Brass 2 weeks ago that is now dead in the water.
Bron continues to be the coach and GM everywhere he goes and when it doesn’t work out he deflects blame and immediately runs to another team.
Ya, I don’t like Bron. Unbelievable player and longevity but not a winning player in my mind. His way or the high way.

I’m not sure it’s correctly characterized as a “shot”. If I were drafted by the Lakers it would be cool but after a nice moment, I would still have no shot. A “shot” implies possible success. Very, very unlikely. Another real question is “when does James turn the corner? If it continues as a gradual slide when do diminishing returns become an albatross around his teams neck? Plus Bronny? The guy has been through A TON this past year. Happy that he gets this shot. Overall seems like another Thanasis Antetokounmpo type situation. Not a massive issue IMO. Happy for Bronny.
