Bryan Blair: New Syracuse AD ??

Yep and I’m good with it. Age doesnt always mean better or more experience. Give me some youth and enthusiasm.
It’s the only way to get new ideas. SU needs to change things up. Blair is a great communicator and very articulate. I can see where he would be very impressive in an interview. It doesn’t hurt that Keyes is on staff and he can vouche for what kind of administrator and person he is. He seems authentic and not afraid to rock the boat and venture into new pathways. A Midwest guy is also in the neighborhood of Josh Shertz. Might not mean anything, but it might open him up to be a serious candidate. I will be delighted if it’s either Shertz or Hodgson.

I’d like to see a venn diagram for Hodgson and Blair to figure out if there are intersections

He didn't hire either the football or basketball coaches. The basketball coach has been there for 16 seasons and the football coach was there for 10 seasons. He did just hire a new football coach, but who knows if he is going to be good.
Named to the SBJ 40 Under 40 list in 2024. That's a great endorsement.

Reminds me of when we hired Fran. Out of nowhere hire, the more you read about him the more it moved
Between him and Fran they should be able to get all the rich SU Alumni involved in investing for the sports programs.

Really good interview here on gameday experience, fan research, being a modern day AD, etc.:

Can we get a dunk tank at football games too? LOL.

Seems like Wildhack put up with a lot of nonsense and did a good job overall. However, I never loved having a Newhouse guy in charge of the athletic program. Blair comes from this world. You can hear it the details of how he talks. I'd be thrilled with this hire. All in.

At first, I was underwhelmed because I was expecting Carp. But I’m warming up to ADBBB.
The only thing I liked about Carparelli was that he was better than the other names that we heard.

Grabbing an acting AD from a strong athletic department that specializes in fundraising? As soon as I heard his name he rocketed up the board for me.

This is a very good hire. For nothing more than it’s not Lyke. Also why we can’t get bent out of shape thinking something is going in the “wrong direction” when we don’t have all the facts.
Would make a strong duo with BH, wouldn't you say?

Had a lot of support too. Will be interesting to hear what went wrong.
