Bubble Watch - Week of February 25th to March 3rd

One interesting game you didn't have listed was Miami/Duke (the national CBS game at 4pm). Miami was at the top of the new bubble list this morning, so has a little breathing room at the moment, but you never know if they go on a big losing streak. They are at FSU and at Va Tech next, both of which are great at home. And their first ACCT game will be a team very capable of beating them like a UVA or Cuse or Va Tech. Thus, it's not unfathomable that they could lose 4 straight. In addition, after the tremendous win vs Duke, we sure don't want that win devalued at all. So although no one wants to proactively "root" for Duke (or at least admit it publicly), I think it's a no-brainer that we all root for Miami to lose...

They could be on the secondary bubble, you are correct. I think Miami could potentially get in with 4 straight losses however because none are bad. But it's not a lock either. So worth following.

Absolutely. And I really don't want the narrative on Duke to change right now. I'd love them to beat Miami easily. Now, I will take another shower. Yuck.

Ugh. I look at it this way: if we get swept by Georgia Tech, including losing on our Senior Day, we have sealed our fates.

I think we are closer to 80% with only a Georgia Tech win but I respect your knowledge and research, so that concerns me.

By the end of next week I can see myself saying it is 80% or even more with just one win. But there are quite a few games involving other teams between now and then, That is why I am keeping it fairly conservative for now.

No Grayson Allen today.

Duke must've left his trusty rattle in Durham. Grayson won't play without it.

Definitely want Duke to win and keep winning, closing out the season 10-1 and hopefully regular season co-champs wouldn't hurt.

Down goes TCU!!! (and thank you for the phantom foul, lol) This is definitely a start to getting that 50% closer to 80%! I need to side with Iommi on this as 50% just seems too low with one more win, fresh off the mega win Wed.

Hopefully this represents TCU/Dixon's tourney hopes on Selection Sunday

VCU really shat the bed. Awful turnovers. Awful possessions. Awful wide open misses.

TCU set up a great look but they loss.

TCU was what I thought was the biggest game of the day for us to follow. So another positive result.

Rhode Island is the first negative result of the day. They were the slight favourites however. My biggest fear in the A-10 is not Rhode Island, but it's a bubble buster. There are quite a few decent teams in the A-10, and there are 2 solid tourney teams (Dayton and VCU). There are certainly good chances that one of those decent teams wins.

(Note - when I take pics off CBS the records are not updated today for some reason)

Result as expected. Closer than expected however.

Tech needed something unexpected as they were in lots of work group. Chances are very low to make it in at this point.

These later games aren't looking so great so far.

Vandy crushing Ole Miss
Michigan crushing Purude
Ole Miss only up 1 against MIzzou with 4min left though

I do think we'd rather have PC win than Marquette.

I did too, mainly because of the bracket matrix. However, at halftime CBS Sports Network did one of those side by side comparisons of the 2 teams, and surprisingly, Providence seemed to have the better resume. The matrix ranking may be just a case that Providence has just gotten hot the past couple weeks, and so there is a bit of a lag while folks catch on. In reality, it doesn't really matter since they are so close and would probably flip-flop with a PC win (at least in the general area) on the matrix. Marquette does have 2 tough games left (at Xavier, Creighton) so maybe this is better the way it is going (Marquette up 12 with 7 min to go).

Not a good day for us bubble wise. Big wins by some other bubble teams. We certainly still have some work to do. We've hit a nice approach but still have a 5 foot putt to save par.

(I'm dreaming of spring)

I think we got some really good results, Tcu losing helps.

Certainly, because we don't want to see TCU in the tourney. Any chance of playing Dixon is too big of a chance for me. Michigan got a huge win and so did Miami. They were both in above us, which means they are probably solidified. As long as the teams below us lose I guess it won't matter.

I don't even think Mich is on the bubble.
