Buddy Boeheim ranks among ESPN’s top 2022 NBA Draft prospects

JB only nominated one player. He wanted that one player to make one of the three teams. Buddy would have taken votes away.
Every coach nominated 3 players.
The idea JB would only nominate Quincy is what I am talking about Cusefan0307.

This is absurd.

No offense, but when Buddy was shooting 30% last year right after having Covid you posted to me those were the numbers he would end up with at the end of the season. Now the goalposts seemed to have moved. If he has the type of season many expect some fans just need to take their L’s.

The reason this debate keeps happening is because the goalposts keep moving, but people have still dug in.

I expect him to score are 20ppg this year on around 45/40/90. If I am wrong I am wrong. But a good portion of fans are still dug in from last January.

Buddy isn’t a 44% 3 point guy. Kispert did it two years in a row. Plus his last year that included 53% from the floor.

Buddy will not likely shoot those percentages. Doesn’t make him a bad player. Kispert is a better shooter.

I’m debating Kispert v Buddy. Nothing else. I’m not sure how many times I can say I think he can be all acc and punchers chance of getting drafted late second round.

For Kispert v Buddy, Kispert IS a better shooter.

So it went from just one guy was nominated to two guys.

If Buddy was our best player why wasn’t he nominated?

you’d have to ask JB.

He didn’t make one of the 3 All-ACC teams.
I think the kid is solid but this board elevates him and that is where my take comes from.
Next season I expect an all-ACC type of season but I don’t except his last 3 weeks over a season.

I would take Andrew White’s 2016-2017 right now and that wasn’t all-American level.
He didn’t make one of the 3 All-ACC teams. Melo was 2nd team AA let alone not getting NPOY but I don’t know anybody who doesn’t think he wasn’t the best player in college that year (by a lot)

I think the kid is solid but this board elevates him and that is where my take comes from. This board rode Buddy like a rented mule his entire career until the last 6 weeks of last season

Next season I expect an all-ACC type of season but I don’t except his last 3 weeks over a season. It was almost 6 weeks starting 2/20 with ND and ending vs Houston 3/27

I would take Andrew White’s 2016-2017 right now and that wasn’t all-American level. If you don’t include dribbling, passing, initiating offense or knowing zone responsibilities then I guess they‘re similar?

I think Cusefan0307 covered it, but you are smarter and better than this. He has turned himself into a great player and it’s not his fault that he was overplayed when sick/struggling. You know that. Save your energy for ND hate.

As you know I think we are going to enjoy this season the most in 10 years and it will be even more enjoyable if you let go of a bit of the misplaced JB anger before the season starts.

Cheers And LGO!

Paying 480 dollars to be a top 6 seed is a good investment for me:
I would do it every year if I could.
With NIL, there's nothing stopping you.

Seems strange that the coaches have to nominate their players. The selectors should just watch the games and pick, like every other award.

don’t disagree at all.

Buddy is a great player - could eventually go down as an all time great at Cuse - but did anyone not see what that kid from Houston did to him? he would not even get a shot off with someone like Kwahi guarding him

… and there are 30 other Kawhi’s in the NBA, each one of which will be tasked solely with shutting down Buddy, rather than the All-Star(s) on his team.

/ end sarcasm.

98% of NBA players would shut him down. The athleticism gap is massive. He can't get by college players off the dribble, and he won't have a height advantage in the league like he does in college.

Buddy’s NBA role is to just stand in the corner and make 3’s as a second unit guy.
He won’t do anything else.

Anybody who doesn’t think there is a spot for Buddy in the NBA doesn’t watch the NBA.
I watch the nba. I don’t believe there is a spot for him with his foot speed on D.

who would you compare him to that currently plays in the nba?

Doug McDermott, same player

if you wanna suggest JJ Reddick is the same player as Buddy, not really worth continuing. Their style of play isn’t remotely similar on either end.
Reddicks defense has been awful for over a decade.

did I say otherwise? He’s 6-4 and defends shooting guards in the nba.

do you guys think McDermott plays shooting guard in the nba?
