Buddy suspended for Duke

The Sports Information Director. Show him the video from a phone and tell him I can't comment because I haven't reviewed the tape yet. This is Soo simple and easy. Yet there was probably no prep for the presser and he tried justifying it or whatever that was. It's embarrassing.
You really think Jim Boeheim is going to listen to Pete Moore?

Do you know Jim Boeheim? No disrespect at all to Pete Moore.

Technically, buddy hit him with the inside of his fist. Not a punch.

I am so glad we both think they’re idiots.

FYI , most of my comments are silly. I have no idea what I’m talking about 90% of the time
Lol. I don’t think they had a chance with buddy so I’m a special kind of idiot

He infers that the refs did review the play, but couldn’t act upon it because they got there too late.

His point isn’t that Buddy shouldn’t be suspended, it’s that he’s being over suspended due to lack of competence of the crew and a somewhat arbitrary rule that you can’t go back to review the punch.

If the play is reviewed and acted upon, his punishment is equivalent to any other player who does the same (gone for the rest off the game and FTs).

But because the refs did not bother to investigate why a player was doubled over in pain…and once they realized what happened they could not act, the league steps in and Buddy ends up getting suspended for an entire game.

Those punishments aren’t equal…and in his mind, unfair.

The ACC could have come out and said, due to the circumstances of the game,Buddy should have been thrown out at that point…as such. we are suspending him for the first half of the next game.
I love the support. I also don’t think the ACC did anything wrong.

I “think” if they had given buddy a flagrant 2 and ejected him, the ACC could still give him an additional punishment such as a 1 game suspension but they don’t have too. Imo they probably wouldn’t have if he had been tossed.

Well JB can always put four players on the floor, minus buddy.

"My team is on the floor"

Coach K will have no choice but to pull one player off his to make it a fair game.

Lol. Some peoples' reaction to this is mind-blowing. So what, if the officials missed it, we know it happened!!

It reminds me of the segment on John Oliver's show Sunday about the death penalty, and an attorney defending for the state told an appellate judge that an innocent man should be executed if there was no applicable technical ground to overturn the lower verdict on.
All the Syracuse fans I’m hearing from are angry with the ACC. All of you are like, “the rules, the rules!” He should not be suspended. They should have called it in the game, reviewed it If necessary, and ejected him then. Otherwise move on. Bilas is right. Syracuse fans back in the day would have been apoplectic over this decision. I’m a little disappointed in everyone’s rationality on here. We defended Derrick Coleman when he went ham on the entire Cornell team. (The last 2 sentences are sarcasm, btw.)

I mean, Buddy could have just not punched the guy. All this complaining about the refs kind of avoids the root cause. Once he lost his cool, he lost the ability to not have a bad outcome.

Exactly.

So, Buddy got boxed out a little over -enthusiastically by the FSU dude?

So what? It’s a basketball play.

You can throw an elbow or a hip check back at the dude and make your point, and that’s still some semblance of a basketball play, and just an ordinary foul if seen by the official.

Taking a swing is never the right call,

unless you’re Pearl and it’s Ewings nads. ;)

^This. My favorite is the take where people admit is should have been a flagrant but since the refs missed it, it's somehow passes to the realm where no body in the world has jurisdiction over it. It's like the basketball version of the place in Yellowstone where murder is legal or something.

So you're saying there's a chance!
There's always a chance, but this is a very good Duke team. We will need to shoot lights out. Play D like we did today and force them to shoot from deep, hope they don't make them and rebound the ball. State had many turnovers, we helped create some and had steals which helped us today, maybe dook will also have a bad shooting game like FL ST.

Yeah but DC threw Moose Johnston through a Marshall St bar window once.

Glass half-full take--now the kid's last game (most likely) was a win.

Getting blown out (quite possibly) in the quarterfinals of a conference tournament for your last game isn't exactly a dream ending to a career.

Yes buddy was the root cause. But the refs have a job and they didn’t do it.
