I think its clear Beane/McDermott want to tank to set themselves up for the 2018 draft and probably the 2019 draft. After 17 years of no playoffs its hard to say that trying a complete rebuild for the first time isn't the answer but its frustrating to watch them make so many curious moves. Darby/Watkins was hard to swallow but it at least made some sense in the thought process of stacking picks. The Williams/Hodge moves are bizarre and in my mind echo thoughts of Chip Kelly/Matt Millen. I can't make a reasonable explanation for letting go of either player, there really is no rationale. I am a bit surprised Terry Pegula didn't raise an eyebrow, I hope he at least got a full explanation on the reasoning behind those two moves. I think the D will be better then last year but with depth issues why cut a guy like Hodges or trade Seymour? No choice but to trust the process but the last few moves have let me wondering if these guys know what their doing.
