Buffalo Bills 2019

McDermott needs to know when to use timeouts better vs just taking a delay of game penalty.

Hopefully the defense makes adjustments and we get good Allen in the playoffs.

This team can play with anyone
I really don’t get why teams waste a TO for 5 yards unless its in the red zone. As 2 and 10 vs. 2 and 15 isn’t worth wasting a second half TO.
Same for the goal line TO. It was first down from 2 i don’t get wasting a TO there. Odds were in NE favor to score a TD. If it was second or third down okay.

At least with KC NE doesn't get another double this year. Between Houston Tennessee Tebow and Anthony Lynn they always play the biggest horsecrap teams in round 2.

Yeah, I'm surprised teams haven't started just taking the penalty as they adapt to analytics more; guessing it's just reflex at this point to call it when they see the playclock about to hit zero and they just don't think about it rationally.

Only 2 games matter for Bills fans.
Chiefs Bears this week
Titans Texans next week.

Bills fans should want KC to beat Chicago or Tennessee beat Houston.

As that would get you guys Houston in the wild card. I think you guys beat them.

It looks like if Houston beats Tennessee, KC needs to win both their games to maintain the Houston-Buffalo matchup, at least assuming ESPN's playoff machine is handling tiebreakers correctly.

He’s not good enough to beat New England ... for every good throw there are 3 bad ones ... that should have been a TD right there but he floated it too high cause he has zero touch .. he’s all fastball no secondary pitches
He needs to be better, but with the way this team is built, he’s good enough.

Re: the Knox throw... I want to see him make it, it’s a tough throw, but still... That being said, he has other strengths that are the reason why were one of the best red zone offenses in the NFL with ZERO jump ball WRs.

Nevermind Allen made the plays to get us down the field. After making the throws to get us the lead.

He needs to get better. And I personally think he will. But I feel very good heading to the playoffs after that second half. The normally elite, and heavily invested in defense was absolute trash, and our OL, which has been solid, was dominated in both the run and pass game.

If we get second half Allen against elite defenses and Miami/Denver/Dallas Allen against the other ones, we have a shot to make a lot of noise.

The Bills are locked into the 5 seed right? They can rest their guys next week pretty much?

Yes, cemented as the 5 seed. I imagine that the starters will play very little, if at all.

This game was a playoff atmosphere against the class of the NFL, great experience for a young team. Don't want to sound cocky but playing Houston on the road could be a walk in the park compared to today

Is McDermott aware of the purpose of that red flag in his pocket?
He should’ve thrown it... but that whole play was everything wrong with NFL officiating.

The call on the field was egregiously incorrect.

You know it. I know it. The announcers knew it.

Also, 50/50 it’s overturned.

The more egregious error was the play before that, which of course we never saw a replay of. The refs spotted the ball a full yard ahead of where it should have been. Should have been 4th and 2 instead of 4th and 1 and that definitely changes things in a major way.

we should have beaten them last year on the road until some voodoo started to occur that can only be explained as haley's comet like likelihood

I still can’t understand how they missed the facemask on the Allen 4th down conversion

did it really matter though? they ended up getting first and goal from the eight AFTER the missed call and then started their backward retreat to buffalo early

Uh yeah, the pass that got them to the 8 may have been a TD. So, yeah, that’s a pretty big miss

Really, all I take from that game was that the Pats are still king and will need to be beaten in the playoffs... they won’t just lose a game.

We also played (what seemed to be) vanilla so I hope we were holding back a bit for the playoffs. The offense with its incessant first down runs and the defense, while looking unprepared for New England’s physicality, also looked very tame schematically. That’s not the schematic defense we’ve seen lately.

I’m just happy we’ve got the deep ball clicking heading into the playoffs. That, win/loss aside, was the biggest Bills-related takeaway for me. Allen is improving against the elite defenses. If we advance and face one again, I’m expecting to see that progression continue. He’s not phased by the bright lights.

Welp, nothing gained (except a “bye” week this week) and nothing lost.

This team can beat anyone in the playoffs. I agree w LIC in terms of the importance of the long ball clicking at the right time.

I will be putting duct tape on the back of my Tyrod jersey this weekend and writing Barkley on it. Unless someone wants 4 tickets for $500 a piece?
