Buffalo Bills 2020 Thread

I want Baltimore .. I hate them with a passion .. they can’t score with us .. we need to make this a run and gun special ... if we try to play ball control and clock manage.. we’ll get beat

Gotta admit this matchup feels like a nightmare. Mobile qb and upper echelon run game, 2 things we really struggle with plus Andrew's is light years better at TE then the colts mediocre TEs who gashed us. Defense will have to a complete 180.

Some of our struggles vs the run are by design as PFF always talks about. Against this team we'll have more of a gameplan like in the 49ers game to attack it. Obv the Ravens are a better version.
McD can also work the "nobody believes" angle if that's worth anything 'cause Baltimore will be a very trendy pick.

Forget the D ... we’re going to give up points ... we’re going to have to outscore them

I’m afraid the coaching staff might have an issue with being tight in the post season .. I mean yesterday was bizarro

They absolutely do, it was a near carbon copy of the 1st Pats game. Weird play calling, inability to stop the run and then when the O gets going, the D essentially stops playing. Hoping we just needed to get over the hump of that 1st win.

Damn I wanted pitt so badly. The fact they got down so badly is exactly why. Couldn’t beat Cleveland’s mess of a team.

I saw what McD did to Lamar last year in person at the Stadium. The problem was we couldn’t score. We can score this year.

One dimensional offenses don’t fair well against Sean and Leslie.

Contain contain.

make him throw the ball outside the numbers. he cant with consistency. his passes are all over the middle to tight ends and once in a while a bomb to brown...problem is, we suck at covering the tight end ..and they thrive at getting the ball to the tight end.

Nice

The two keys IMO are the health of our WRs and whether or not our defense can tackle.

If Diggs and Beasley are healthy, I think we'll put up points. Tackling has been an issue with this defense for years now. If they can pull it together for this game and our WRs are fine, we win. If neither of those things pan out, we lose.

Baltimore's defense is very good, but their tendencies actually play into our hands pretty well. I'm a bit scared of their offense but you know McD and Frazier will have a gameplan for it; just not sure the players are good enough to execute it.

So who do you activate? Yeldon or Williams?

I think if Williams has show any semblance of chops in the pass blocking category then the staff should go with him.

I agree with your assessment. To be frank, I hate Yeldon so I'm hoping we go with Williams but I'll understand if they trust Yeldon more in terms of pass blocking and occasionally pass-catching, and that'll probably be the main thing they require from whoever they activate.

I assume Yeldon. The veteran, has experience in big games, can catch the ball. I would love Williams, but I understand the Yeldon choice.

Tough question. williams has more upside and looked great versus Miami but Yeldon is probably more familiar with the O, safe vet, pass catcher, pass blocking, etc. Safe versus risk/ reward. Williams did look damn good running the football though.

I bet McDermott goes with Yeldon.

If you can find a way to hear Tasker’s call, on the fumble that the NFL determined wasn’t a fumble, you should.

Absolutely crushing the refs and the NFL... good thing we can all laugh about it now

Along this same line of reasoning, I'm still hoping we end up bringing in a 3rd RB in the offseason specifically for those skills (though I also still think Moss could potentially be that guy for us; he's a pretty well-rounded back).

If they ultimately think Moss can be good in that role, I want our 3rd RB to be an explosive athlete as a change-up to our two slow but shifty runners.

Not my top priority by any means, but figured I'd throw that out there since we're talking RBs.

Moss was really coming along - I think he’s an excellent pass catcher. He handles those fastballs from Josh, with ease, oftentimes in awkward catching positions on the field. Very disappointed by his injury.

I know Jones is technically the third active back, each game, but I have always been a proponent of having three backs active for every game. Wish we could get to the point of having three “real” active backs at some point in the future.

Same with Boomer Esiason in the postgame. That was his entire analysis of the game when it was his turn to go.

Antonio Williams looked like the best runner on this team by a mile against Miami...

That being said, I have no idea how well rounded he is. If he whiffs on a blitz pickup or bobbles a pass up into the air, that could be the difference.

We know Baltimore is going to send heat at Josh... I am really intrigued by Williams, but I think you have to go with Yeldon.

Personally I would like to see them activate both. Have Taiwan Jones inactive and roll with Singletary, Yeldon and Williams. Let Williams split carrier with Devon and then use Yeldon as a third down guy as he is excellent out of the backfield. Those three would be a real nice trio with different skill sets. Hope the WRs are improved after a week off, if Mckenzie is not 100% have to think about giving Stills a shot.

I need a link to this, and Tasker. I missed his take on WGR today.
