Buffalo Bills 2020 Thread

It's a shame. New Era was teetering a bit pre-pandemic, but this looks like it may be the final blow.
They were doing so well just a few years ago. And you see New Era caps in every sport. Even NASCAR. I wonder why they started struggling so much?

My somewhat-educated guess: they overextended themselves. The naming rights deal with the Bills - and perhaps more importantly, the deal with MLB to put the New Era logo on the on-field caps - cost a small fortune. Tough to measure ROI on those things, but I do know that sales/revenue goals were not being hit.

Makes sense

Ed Oliver charges dropped - no evidence - blood results showed no impairment of any kind.
That's insane. I don't understand. Didn't he straight up fail a sobriety test?

Interesting since he reportedly had an open beer between his legs, which at minimum is a misdemeanor in Texas. Also, what about the gun charge? He was still illegally in possession of a weapon, right? Or was the illegal possession of a weapon related to him allegedly being intoxicated?

Weapon possession not a violation if not intoxicated. Had an open beer and an unregistered gun. This seems to be OK in Texas. Welcome back big guy!

Well the open beer is definitely a misdemeanor but they probably decided it wasn't worth pursuing with the DWI charges thrown out.

Man - Ed gets props in my book for handling himself like an adult when he may have been justified in expressing feelings of being victimized and perhaps not cooperating or even resisting arrest.

My man!!!

Agreed, playing it cool and letting the process play out really paid off for him. Great to see him be exonerated of everything.

Luckily for him, he has the means and resources to get this overturned, unlike many others placed in the same situation who would be booked, unable to post bail and assigned an incompetent public defender.

I guess it’s a good thing he was smart enough to make good choices as a youngster by listening to the right adults, stay out of trouble, get good grades, practice hard at football so he could get into college with a scholarship. Then I guess it’s good he thing he worked hard in his college courses so he could stay eligible and pick up some more life knowledge, practice hard in college so he could become a professional football player.

Just good luck I guess.

I still don't get how the hell you blow a 0.00 when you have an open beer in the car. Most folks usually aren't cracking their 1st one in the car.

Why do you always feel the need to parse words and present it in a way that makes you think you're presenting an argument that actually matters?

Debatable. He is from Texas after all. Can do whatever you want if you're that good at football for the most part. Not saying he did, but that's how it goes around here.

According to him, it wasn't a beer can, it wasn't between his legs and it was previously being used as a spit cup.

Not out of the question I guess but he certainly looked a little wobbly in the video though that could just as easily be attributed to nerves when being black and surrounded by numerous officers.

I've always thought about how I would perform in a field sobriety test dead sober. I can't say that I'd see it going well.

I took one a few years ago when not quite sober and it scared me into sobriety and allowed me to pass the field tests thankfully.
