I also think winning teams bring in a lot more money in donations and other things. But, I don't run the school.

We’ve moved past the “Shafer” plan
Or, hopefully it means the university is focused on its academic mission first. Not wrong but incredibly shortsighted.
BumpThe Eddie Lampkin experience is going to be one hell of a ride.
We will have none of that talk around here, Sir!Or, hopefully it means the university is focused on its academic mission first.
I was just giving exact numbers so everyone is aware. Are you saying that like it is a little or a lot?
Same here. I'm about done.I'm a hair's breadth from quitting college hoops. All D1 sports are up in the air with NIL and the portal rules, but it seems much, much worse in hoops.
Yes, the court is aware, the members are aware, can we move on LT?I was just giving exact numbers so everyone is aware.
How about football where we are on the other side of that?Same here. I'm about done.
This is different considering we have other players on the roster that couldn’t make the same decision at this point since the transfer portal is closed for entry. He took more money. We would all do it. How about we stop acting like everything is fine and start solving the problems. We didn’t play the game with Jesse and sunk a season. We didn’t play the game here and likely sunk another.
We will need to see some wins first, but it is definitely looking better than basketball. How did we get here? How about football where we are on the other side of that?
The last decade doesn't matter in this landscape. All that matters is todays$$$.Embarrassing. But why would we expect anything different from a staff that hasn’t built a coherent roster in a decade.

Don't knock it until you tried it. Every state has good thingsI mean, if it meant I had to live in Texas?...But that's just me.
Their agent should 1000% be structuring deals that makes this virtually an irrelevant part of the equation.I thought of that but what everyone forgets is taxes. 750k in Texas is a lot more than 750k in NY
Lived in Dallas for two years.Don't knock it until you tried it. Every state has good things
Agreed. If this is their viewpoint then even more reason to ask for a refund on tickets next year.
Football seems to be doing something right, I’m not sure what the heck is going on with basketball. I hope we didn’t throw away an entire season for a couple hundred thousand bucks. How about football where we are on the other side of that?
Same here. I'm about done.
San Antonio IMHO is much easier...DFW is too big without good mass transitLived in Dallas for two years.
This is pretty much where I am at, without a legit point guard Lampkin wasn’t going to change much.it’s really not worth it to get worked up over or sad about. Not like we were a final 4 team or even a sweet 16 with Lampkin. expectations should be zilch. Like as low as we’ve ever had them.
Yeah I get it, trust me I do. I’m a partner at an Am Law 200 law firm and I negotiate big deals regularly. I don’t negotiate against myself and I don’t re-deal without good reason. Much of it protecting my reputation which serves you later. However, we suck, and every year it feels like there’s an excuse. I’m at the no excuses stage. Find a way to be good. Don’t care how. And the fact NIL keeps biting us tells me it’s a bigger problem than Jesse’s shady negotiation tactics. Unless something changes, I’ll assume it will keep happening and we won’t be good. They did pay Jesse last year. Twice. He was never going to come back to us because West Virginia was always going to re raise our bid. At some point, you make your best offer and if it isn't accepted, you walk away. And that is what happened and that is what we did.
