I’m guessing we are in a better position than I originally thought
I think Arkansas is a threat too from some stuff I've seen. Hoping he goes with the big boy program of what's left on his list and can see how well he fits our style of play.

from uk insider who knows his stuff

It isn't. They have a coach that is creative in his recruiting. Having said that, watch out for Ark.
We have a shot here?

Not saying you are wrong because as we know anything can happen and things change but Arkansas supposedly does not have any scholarships avaulable at this time.

Hes creative alright. Theres been plenty said about him and his recruiting. But who knows what these kids want? I guess I shouldnt say its ridiculous that he goes there. I'm just orange biased obviously so when I see a list like his I think we should have a damn good chance at closing on this kid. Arkansas is the one I'd think would be the biggest threat but theres been talk (bossi) thinks hes heading to WKU. But from what travis graf just told me it seems his recruitment is a bit all over the place at the moment.

Are you sure? I thought they had room

Don’t underestimate how important playing time is for these kids. If he’s been given a promise of guaranteed playing time at a WKU, that matters. Look at best fit. Not the name of the school.

I totally understand that. But with bassey there and it being WKU it wont be about playing time. SH and Arkansas then I'd agree with you.

If it is a bidding war with $$$ being the factor, I am surprised that Syracuse is still in the running. Probably that we are not!

Earlier in his recruitment, Anselem was interested in SEC (LSU, Alabama, Georgia and then Kentucky). If $$$ is the factor, Arkansas may be his destination. While starter minutes are not there, backup minutes are probably available.

Western Kentucky has never won anything and that coach couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. Besides having a mascot that looks like grimace what's intriguing about it?

just a FWIW. This was sent to me from a guy who runs a legitimate site for UK and worked for scout. Just his gut feeling but the lsu/mentor/$ part worries me a bit. That would make WKU a serious contender here regardless of playing time available at any of the schools.

The last Georgia recruit Syracuse had was Josh Pace. That worked out fine for Syracuse.

The last South Carolina recruits were Michael Jones who turned out to be short-lived, low expectations (regarding college life/school rigor on his part) and an overall mess; and Robert Braswell (who is still pretty unproven right now).

might give some more insight into Frank's decision. This kid decides tomorrow. 6'9 PF. SH with 1 scholarship left and WKU in the mix as well. No clue who is considered the favorite here but worth sharing and keeping tabs on. Most of the stuff I've found it seems like SH might be the one to watch here. But that's not going off of much so take that FWIW.

kid must be pretty confident in his game aaccording to this write up.

"As Cats Illustrated insiders and Sources Say Podcast co-hosts David Sisk and Travis Graf reported Thursday evening, KSR can confirm that 2020 four-star center Frank Anselem is no longer expected to choose Kentucky, with both sides opting to mutually part ways.

Kentucky has been the heavy leader for two solid weeks dating back to the school’s initial contact and would have been the choice without Olivier Sarr’s commitment. Even with him, there was a scenario that could have led Anselem to Lexington, with the opportunity to play spot minutes off the bench still being an avenue they’d explore. When it became apparent from Kentucky’s side of things that redshirting was the likeliest scenario for him, though, Anselem and his camp ultimately decided the fit wouldn’t work.

“Frank thinks he’s a one-and-done. Absolutely,” one individual familiar with the situation told KSR. “He’s not taking a back seat to anyone. … It’s a good breakup. Great kid, bad fit for UK.”

He’s not starting here so I’m not sure what to think
