LOL…Have nothing agsinst Owen and wish him the best, again he is a good kid. I want SU to win and give our team the best chance. He was the 10th (maybe 12th) man on a lousy Creighton team and not because he was injured. Does not take to much to figure out I want a better player, a rim protector who can play defense. If OF is a take and our 3rd string guy it’s all good as he will be a good teammate. As for his stats at Iowa, they were a lousy team, did not make the tourney and just ran up and down giving up easy baskets and scoring a lot of points. JJ Starling was a ACC 1st teamer as a Freshman, a good teammate hard worker, etc. nearly the exact same situation here (remember how excited we were). Maybe I’m wrong, but do not see GMAC in that mode he seems like he wants good defenders and centers who can protect the paint and rim. And yes, the CU fans feel burned (and coaches) as he was not 1/2 the player they expected. Maybe our expectations are different its for GMAC/coaches to figure out.Ok Omaha, did this dude hit on your wife or something? You got all pissy pants when I said the fans really seem to despise him, you defend him but then dog him now. I don’t get it man.
Creighton is in Omaha, right next to a freeway. Pretty similar to SU.Freeman is not from a city or a city environment and has played at two schools that aren’t your traditional city like feel. Auburn is similar. Syracuse isn’t huge but you know and feel like you live in the city being around campus. As someone farm and country raised I loved my time on the hill but it was an adjustment. Freeman had an Iowa teammate come with him to Creighton. Thus I can see the culture shock factor at play here too as he is trying to decide.
JJ was an All Freshman ACC player. Not all ACC ha. I don’t think you have any idea. It’s also burned into our memories just how bad of a leader JJ was.LOL…Have nothing agsinst Owen and wish him the best, again he is a good kid. I want SU to win and give our team the best chance. To who?I've heard we offered him a bag, he's considered damaged goods, and we're just his fallback option if Auburn doesn't want him. I mean at this point what are we doing here this isn't some All American level player, he could be cooked for all we know. Time to move on

He’s not considered damaged goods if multiple P4 schools and a tournament team in SLU are offering him major money.I've heard we offered him a bag, he's considered damaged goods, and we're just his fallback option if Auburn doesn't want him. Plus, I have heard what we have offered him. It isn't more than we have offerd any of our current players. It's a lot more. And he didn't say yes right away so that tells me others are offering something in the same league. That is not 3rd string. Now, no one knows how he will do next year at whatever school he goes to. But he is being recruited like he is a star player. Like what he was when the Blue Jays gave him 1.8 million just a couple of years ago.OmahaCuse, I've appreciated all of the info from the local perspective you've brought to this thread.
But I find it very difficult to believe that this guy could average double figures 2 years in a row in the Big 10, but not be good enough to be the 10th or 12th man at Creighton. Come on.
I’ve heard we didn’t offer him any more than a lunch bag. I’m not sure if he’s damaged goods or not but we may be a fallback option if somebody else doesn’t offer him a “ BAG.” Your first sentence is inaccurate and makes no sense if the rest is true.I've heard we offered him a bag, he's considered damaged goods, and we're just his fallback option if Auburn doesn't want him. I heard different Dasher. So I won’t swear to it as I will never claim to be closer than you to things.Plus, I have heard what we have offered him. Agree. Omaha has some good points about his athleticism. He's certainly not going to compete in a dunk contest like Kyle. But I watched almost every game he played at Iowa and I find it hard to believe he turned into this now.OmahaCuse, I've appreciated all of the info from the local perspective you've brought to this thread.
