He can be an effective highly paid 9/7/1 guy who is everything we need because of the presence he provides and allows Gerry and the staff to run the system they want and for 1 year as he’s building something special long term it’s ok you spend the money on him for that. You’ve got a blue collar guy off the bench and a major high upside prospect , both of which can help and both of which can be more effective in smaller doses with OF your starter.

I'm struggling with the tea leaves but sounds like some off the court issues more than anything else? Maybe I'm entirely misreading but it seems like there are things there that many wouldn't want to support if they knew.

As a player, seems worth a shout as a reclamation project but to be "unplayable" leads to more to the story. I don't expect you to share openly and appreciate your not airing others laundry but hopefully I'm picking up what you've been hinting at.

I’m not a blindly “just trust Gerry” guy but I do trust him and his staff to do their due diligence. Some risks are worth taking. To me, this is one, depending where they are with other players, of course.

I’m sure Gerry made a call to Riley Mulvey. Mulvey played for Gerry last year and was OFs teammate at Iowa for two years and could give him insight into the kid as a teammate.

He also got 4-5 calls from Scheyer about Maliq back when Maliq was in the portal which he was shared in an article about Maliq a few weeks back, I’m sure Gerry got some tips about due diligence from things like that..

All opinions good , bad or neutral on OF: doesn’t surprise me it’s a rubber stamp let me go here for the last college season after year 3 was a mess. Especially when it includes going possibly much further from home.
