I found this video of his time at South Dakota, before transferring to UCLA.
Two take away points. He is much more of a post player than we thought. He has a little skill, and didn’t just big boy everybody in the lower league. He’s got a little baby hook that seems to be hard to defend, he just has long arms and gets high when using it. He also protects his shot well with his body.
My other takeaway is just how much bigger he got in his year at UCLA. He physically looks like a different player in his UCLA highlights than his previous year highlights.
I wish we had a Strength building program at Syracuse.
Anyway, this video is pretty good, (although non HD for some of it, apparently South Dakota is still in the Stone Age) but even if you don’t care to watch it, watch the plays that start around 3:05 in the video. Kyle is going to be fun to watch run in transition. He is a Grant, Warrick class dunker. He’s going to be fun to have in our team.
