he's out recruiting today it sounds like per Bailey - good to see he isn't wasting any time...
That was true 20 years ago. Not anymore. Why do you say this? Pasqualoni was great with Rogers and blew with Deleone. The HC is the top executive, not the vice president of finance. Whoever the HC is, offensive or defensive, his success will be linked to his hires and our offense will be run by a guy we aren't trying to hire this week.

Hence the ...Unless he's still recruiting for Ohio State.
I agree on an Offensive HC. But, I don't hate the thought of Ash. The thing about bright, young and innovative guys... They typically know bright, young and innovative guys.
Ohio st
alford has been a running backs coach for 50 years or so.If Ash is hired, he might take Tony Alford with him. Coached together at Iowa State for 4 years and was just reunited with him at Ohio State. Alford is a very good recruiter.
Maybe Barney Cotton, who is the OC at Nevada. They coached together at Iowa State.
Wouldn't be shocked to see him bring his old boss Dan McCarney back, probably on the defensive side. He was just fired as the head coach at North Texas.
But why? He could bring in an Art Briles or Chip Kelly disciple as the offensive coordinator, couldn't he? Wait and see who he would hire to run the offense before we start saying that the offense will be horrible for 4-5 years. If it's Ash I'll be disappointed. Not that he can't be good, but that the door marked "quickest way to explosive offense" will stay closed for another 4-5 years.

Before anyone else says it, I'll do it for them:Don't they say DEFENSE wins championships? Look st the Patriots. Tom Brady had to rely on a no name guy on D to win the SB against Seattle, on the last play of the game. Stop with the "we need an offensive coach". If it's Ash, he does have a resume of coaching at some of the top football programs. He'll just need to bring in a good OC and good recruiters with him. That's it. It just might work. Everyone needs to step away from the ledge...
Since I am rooting for an offensive guru too, I am hoping posting another 'if X is hired, this is how his staff might look like' post will cause Coyle to head in a different direction. If Ash is hired, he might take Tony Alford with him. Coached together at Iowa State for 4 years and was just reunited with him at Ohio State. Alford is a very good recruiter.

there are art briles and chip kelly disciples who are already offensive coordinators. But why? He could bring in an Art Briles or Chip Kelly disciple as the offensive coordinator, couldn't he? Let's just go full fantasy here: if he somehow brought Beau Baldwin in as his OC, I'm assuming you'd be on board with Ash.there are art briles and chip kelly disciples who are already offensive coordinators.
unless he's going the high school route, we're probably getting a position coach
and it's probably going to be an urban meyer position coach which is a lot less sure thing
Y'all do realize that until he signs a contract here he is still employed by TOSU.what school is he recruiting for?? please say Ohio State.
