Chris Bell Entering the Transfer Portal

I hope that Chris takes care of himself first. If he can figure himself out he has a chance to have a good life. Im sure he is smart. Has to be to have a chance to transfer to Stanford. Imagine him going to Stanford having a good year, getting a great degree, playing at the next level which would most likely be offshore and going forward from there. How good would that be for him. It's obvious that Red put an enormous amount of effort into helping him. Also, obvious that his teammates understood and supported him.
So good luck to Chris I hope that he makes his decision based on more than basketball.

Chris was in The Maxwell School, which is unusual for most SU athletes. So he is indeed smart.

For that reason, I could certainly see him ending up at Stanford or Cal.

I loved Bell - has one of the prettiest shots I’ve ever seen in Orange, seems smart and witty. Also seemed like a good teammate all things considered.

Hope he crushes it wherever he ends up.
Some of you are really nice people

In all honesty, I'll likely forget all about the guy soon enough. And if he ends up on a P4 program and has a good year I'll probably be mad about it.

Shrug.

Who is the author of the Chris Bell experience? Its one of my all time favorites

C'est moi.

I hope he goes to Miami because Jai Lucas is a very good teacher and I believe will be a great coach, and might be able to get through to Bell. I’m not impressed with Penny as a coach.

Even if he somehow turns it around and crushes it elsewhere, it was still time for him to move on from here. Whatever the reason is for it, he was not able to deal with adversity at Cuse. The lack of effort in other areas of his game when his shooting was not going well, in year freaking 3, was beyond unacceptable.

Seems smart and witty?? How do you deduce this?

Not sure about the good teammate thing. Maybe you're right but it certainly didn't look like it at times. Ask Cuffe about that.

I won't miss the kid.

its gonna be confusing for a lot of people but seems he will end up at a good program next
It's what many have been saying on this board. Chris could be a key player (off the bench) and surrounded by the right mix of players. Counting on him to be your starting SF doesn't won't work well for most teams, certainly didn't for us after trying it for 2 1/2 seasons.

Not that confusing. He's an excellent stand-still shooter from 3. On a team that moves the ball, drives and kicks, and can find open shooters he could he a great weapon.

We haven't done any of that recently and the staff here, for reasons known only to them, thought he could be an all-around player.

"he doesnt dribble. he hasnt dribbled all year" - Kevin Keatts after he told his team Bell doesnt dribble before he hit 9 3's in a half.

He also doesnt play defense unless hes blocking a fast break layup and he doesnt rebound and he doesnt jump on his "jump shot" and he is not shy of yelling at his teammates and pouting on the bench.

he'll have a few big games and people will say "told you so" which is fine and their prerogative.

but ive never cared less about someone leaving. he brought nothing to our table.
