Clemson ticket sales at the moment.

You must be new to the area, or are just not that bright. We do not have a good fan base, especially when it comes to traveling. The fans we have at away games typically live near there. No one that roots for Clemson lives in syracuse LOL.

This is no secret to anyone. We have die hards, sure, but our students and the community as a whole is all about basketball.

its ok that you have your opinion, we are all entitled to one. But man are you way off on this one LOL.

Your comments about this community being all about basketball is nothing but a reflection of yourself. Psych 101 right there.

Ive been to road games at BC,USF,Rutgers, PSU, UNC,Cinncy, and several bowl games, Im usually pleasantly surprised at the SU turnout, for a relatively smaller school.

Ive been to every big east venue twice and out of conference venues as well. Syracuse always has a respectable showing. Considering we are a small private school and not a giant state school with 50 times the alumni i think its impressive what we bring to away games football-wise. It would take someone who knows something about college football to realize that though..so we can't blame tbcuse11 for throwing out negative and unfounded comments on the football program and fans.

I thought the turnout at the Penn State game in Marrone's first year was pretty admirable. Filled up about a whole section on the lower level and there were a good number of cuse fans scattered throughout that steel monstrosity of a stadium.
we had as good a showing at Penn State as i have seen in a long time for a non-conference opponent.

My experience is: we show very well along the I-85/95 corridors. Cuse has a solid base of local fans (my guess is 200) who consistently travel to away games and throw in 100 fans associated with the team. The rest are mostly local alumni/transplants to the area we are playing at. I've been to Pitt and seen 500 Cuse fans and been to USF and seen 6000 Cuse fans and to UNC and seen 4000 Cuse fans. Granted more Cuse fans travel to USF for a mini vacation but my point is Cuse shows well only in areas with high concentrations of Alumni and Upstate NY transplants.

Sounds about right. Looking like it should be a strong showing for the Georgia Tech game this year. I know I'm flying down with 3 other buddies for it, not to mention the 5 or 6 friends I have in the Atlanta area who will be going.

Here is what it looks like at the moment. Blue dots are seats available. Sorry for the slight discrepancies but it was a pain in the a$$. The corners not shown are basically full. Still have some work to do on the 3rd level but I think it is coming along.

Two things jump out with this picture.

1. Very few blue dots in the lower sideline sections. Maybe that's right, but doesn't seem so. We always have way too many empty seats in the middle, and as Bees has pointed out, they're not all no shows.
2. Way too much blue in the upper deck end zones. I know in the flow of ticket sales for a traditional stadium, those are always the last to go. But aren't those all $99 season tickets as well? I mean, SU is practically giving them away, I would have hoped more of them were unavailable just based on that. Doesn't seem like enough of the fringe fans really get how much of a deal that is.

the last pitt game i went to there was an entire section of cuse fans along with cuse fans spread throughout heinz field. we had a good showing

im still debating on G Tech game or Maryland. I was thinking Maryland cause they are leaving ACC but after hearing we are going to keep playing them for a couple years im not sure which direction to go.

I think going forward this might happen: More local CNY/Upstate fans will travel to ACC locales...so Legend's point has some validity now but I don't agree with his analysis during the BE era (Legend what games did you go to on the road the last 10 years?)...however, I believe it will be higher in the future due to the fact that folks in CNY will drive or fly to places like NC/SC/GA/FL because they have friends and family that have moved south and they can visit them too along with watching SU play.

The last Pitt game I went too was when Mike Williams dropped a critical pass late maybe 2006? I figured we had about 4-500 fans.

i went in both 09' and 11'. Both were rough games but the cuse fans were rowdy when we got the chance to be.

We play Maryland next year at home and travel there in 2019. That's it.

Uconn twice, both losses. Pitt thrice all losses, Rutgers twice for some reason and both losses. Win at notre dame, loss at FSU, Win at Akron, BC 3 times, both pinstripe bowls, louisville for a 1 point loss and awful game, morgantown twice, cincinatti for a win and a loss. I actually have not been to USF so i take that back. wake forest for a loss, had a ticket for tulane but couldnt go because of a stupid wedding. there are more im forgetting but yea

I think SU will do a better job of traveling to away ACC football games than basketball games. We're not going to get the support for hoop games that we had in most Northeast locales for Big East games.

I think Cuse Hoop fans will find it much harder to get tickets to most ACC Hoop venues. Too bad GTech is moving into a smaller arena.

which would support the fact that football is king at Syracuse..regardless of our record. Even Boeheim said Syracuse is a football school with a basketball complex.

I'm not sure that's true, although I 'm more of a football guy. A lot of the ACC hoop games are on weekday nights, making it hard for travel if you 're a distance away. Football games are a weekend trip. But Mark makes a good point: some of the ACC venues, like NC and Duke, will be hard to get tickets.

I've never had trouble getting tickets in New York, Newark, Philly, Providence, Piscataway or Hartford. Generally bigger arenas.

This will be the first time in 30 years I won't be able to make an SU road hoops game, unless you count the Garden (and I don't).

I wish we (pejoratively) would stop defining ourselves as a football school or a basketball school. We are a sports school! Take a look at our athletic department and you will see that several of our teams have been doing quite well over the last few years. Saying we're this or that takes away from the whole department and doesn't serve any positive purpose.

wrong

Ask anyone the first thing that comes to mind when you mention Syracuse and 99 out of 100 times its basketball. College football runs the show I agree but it doesnt mean our program runs the show. What is JB supposed to say? We have carried the torch?

1. I agree this might not be 100% accurate but if you look at other upcoming games such as wake forest the sidelines have a lot more open seats available.
2. Yes, the upper deck has some filling out to do.

Thats very misleading. Much easier to travel to a game which is always held on a Saturday so you can make a weekend out of it as opposed to traveling to College Park or Blacksburgh on a Tuesday night. Throw in winter weather as well. That doesnt equate to us being a "football" school.

Best deal in college football. As others have said on this board, those seats (even in last row) in bigger stadiums are considered good seats and you can get them for the whole year for $99.00. We all have to be careful about where we spend our discretionary income, but for $99.00 a pop, how can you go wrong.

go to G Tech - SU is in the opposite division, so I think the next time they come down to Atlanta won't be until 2027 or something ridiculous like that Oh Lord
