Clemson ticket sales at the moment.

Don't care if they are.. I hope you don't go around in life worrying about what others think.

you seem to have taken more offense to my comments than was intended.

I apologize. and for the record have been following along the entire time.

Maybe I took you the wrong way, sometimes hard to interpret over the interwebzzz. No offense taken.

I don't think this thread is something to be embarrassed about though, having a good crowd is a good thing and something to be excited for. Or you can look at it with the glass half empty attitude and say well this is embarrassing because we are excited for this.

Sorry, the glass half empty attitude just erks me.

I hope your excited for this game and are attending.

No offense... but this thread is pretty embarrassing.

Mainly because we have to track our numbers daily to see if we're on pace to sell out 1 of the smallest big time football stadiums in the country against the #3 team in the country who will seat 10% of capacity by themselves.
Pretty sure you've been complaining all week/season/life about the lack of fan support for the football program and now we move toward a packed house/sellout and your complaining about people tracking it and getting excited about it.

That deserves a hearty, "C'mon Man."

I dont think I've complained once (publicly at least) about fan support this season - and almost certainly not this week.

That being said... my complaint in this thread is still over lack of fan support. My point is that its embarrassing that a sellout isnt a foregone conclusion. We only have to sell ~45,250 tickets considering clemson is bringing ~4,000.

Sorry if i mixed you up with our other Atlanta - Cuse brethren. My bad. I'm just really excited about the game, the Dome etc. for this one and don't like to see the Debbie Downer stuff here prior to one of our biggest games in a long time and one that will be very well attended (i have no doubt about that).

I hope it sells out but it doesnt feel that way here locally - no word from SU, none, natta, nothing. You wouldnt even know we are playing Clemson. Just asked around a few of my workmates (casual fans who do go to a game or 2 every year) earlier today and they didn't know about the game - one asked me back "why are we playing Clemson I thought they were in a southern league"?

Dont get me wrong but I would prefer that your Orange colored glass view proves to be true. I am just not holding my breath on this one that we get more than 40k to show.

I'm shocked they don't know about the game.

There will be at least 40k in there, how much more depends on how this upcoming week goes.

I was too (alright a non athletic female maybe not a good example as she rarely goes to games) - I daresay those that live here locally. Go test the waters and ask your workmates if they know who Syracuse plays next in football - and when. You may be surprised by the answer you get.

That's not a casual fan, that's an accidental fan whose husband comes home with 2 tix on occasion and she figures she'll go rather than rake leaves alone and she figures she can get him to go to Bed, Bath and Beyond on the way home.

[Edit] I just saw that it was a non-athletic woman. I didn't know that when I wrote this, but I had a pretty good idea.

30 years ago that would have been the case. I dont even know if 50 out of 100 people even know who Jim Brown is
Sure they do. Lot's of people have seen the Dirty Dozen, Running Man, and Mars Attacks...

.. Jim Brown was in Mars Attacks? I swear i've seen that movie 3 times and didn't know. :(

GT was 1/2 full for the UNC game last week.

I kind of get what you're saying, but who the cares what Clemson fans think? They have a nice little program there, but historically they're not in the same time zone as Syracuse. They have fewer wins overall, less than half the number of All-Americans, no Heisman winner, 6 College Football Hall of Fame inductees compared to 14 for Syracuse and no Pro Football Hall of Fame members compared to 7 for SU with Tom Coughlin soon to make it 8. They're West Virginia with fewer wins and a national championship. They're a nice little program with a good fan base; nothing more, nothing less.

On a side note, I bet we could start a thread on the basketball board making fun of the fact that they probably get 3,000-4000 to show up for the November/December cupcake games. This might be wrong because I doubt any is an actual cupcake for Clemson "basketball."

41-0. I think Marvin Harrison just scored on another 40 yd uncovered post pattern.

UNC isn't #3 in the country
Ga tech doesnt play in a dome (it prob rained 4-6 inches during the game)
They still got 49,445

and Ga Tech is notorious for having terrible fans.

Hey, come to think of it, didn't we bust up the same WVU team 48-23 and 38-13 that crushed Clemson 70-33 in between those games?

Every time I view the dome map it keeps looking better. We have some work to do on the opposing team side 3rd level but I think it will come.

No offense, but if your co-workers go to a game or 2 a year, and don't know that we're in the ACC now, then they are @cking idiots.

No amount of "marketing" could overcome that special kind of stupid.

I would agree with that statement for some of them but for reasons other than sports.

You mean the college where the father and uncle of current SU player Jerami Grant earned All-American honors before going on to the NBA...

IMHO we won't sellout. I see maybe 45-46k...SU charges way too much for seats in the Preferred areas.

Worst part about that is that is the side that the TV cameras have on screen most of the game. Press box and game cameras are on the home side.
