I think if people looked at who Siena has beaten this year, instead of just the overall W-L record, it would paint things differently in terms of how GMac would be seen as a candidate.

it wasnt a melo - gmac thing really. it was melo wanting his friend edelin to be more the pg. jb basically told him who the hell has been getting you the ball before edein could play. i'm sure there was much more jb said. but melo and gmac got along fine.

Edelin was actually a really sad story.
Immensely talented but battled mental health issues.
Apparently a really nice guy who just couldn't hold it together.

Does Hodgson know how to navigate the complexities with the Dome being multi purpose with Football, Lacrosse, and Women's Basketball. Potentially having to wait till gameday to do walkthroughs. Hopkins does. This is another argument in the pro Hopkins camp. Doesn't the away team also deal with this when they come to play us?

I never thought of this. Hire Hop now because no new coach could figure these admin tasks typically left to other people to figure out.

Not sure if shared in the other thread but found this survey around the AD search. I made my thoughts known about AD and the HC options. Who knows if it would make a difference but can’t hurt for everyone to jump in and put your thoughts in along with sharing with anyone in Cuse fandom.

If people are angry, they should email the current AD and perhaps Haynie who will be the new Chancellor. In the subject line put something like "If Lyke and Hopkins are hired, you are not renewing your seasons. " Keep it professional but in a paragraph say why.
If you want change, don't be passive and just post here but reach out. People are saying this stuff is "life or death ". If so, let people who are making decisions know about it.

So Hops key assistants at UW as of now:

Will Conroy- now an Assistant coach at USC,
Cameron Dollar- not coaching
Wyking Jones- now a Real Estate Agent
Dave Rice- HC at a Community College after a year at Cal Baptist as an assistant.

Let’s certainly hope the assistant lineup is much much better in his quest for the job should he have a real shot over BH.

Can’t wait to get the band back together.

If the ties to the money was Hopkins is the coach then I would pass.

Well, we spent a lot of money this year, and got better players than we've had the year before. But it didn't matter because the coaching was subpar.

What you are describing sounds more like fantasy than reality, if Hop can't coach them up. And there are many reasons to suspect that he won't be able to -- his systems on both sides of the ball at UW sucked, and his offense was terrible.

Sounds like doing the same exact thing that failed miserably this year, and hoping for a different result. Only with a bit more $$$ being laid out.

What is the style of play being sold? That's really the only thing that means anything.

I wasn't excited when Hop's name was first brought up but if Melo can drum up this kind of scratch for the program...it's worth listening.

I'm not getting pre-mad, but if it is Hop, what's the point of giving another dollar to SU? It was a good run. Wonderful memories, but it would be about as clear a move that we're waiving the white flag and surrendering ever being good again. And if we can't compete, I get it, that's the world we're in now, but I have finite time and resources.

That wouldn't be their reason though. Their reason, if I can speak for the BOT, would be that the answer is a boatload of Nil and he can do that. And he can do that without having us have to pay 2.6 million on a buyout. I have to do a disclaimer now that this isn't my thoughts but what I am thinking the BOT would say.
