What's the alternative? Sign language? If he got hired he would need to verbally use his press conference

We’re losing him soon regardless. Either he is super successful and moves on to greener pastures, or he flounders again and he’s out the door.Bad ad hire and we can lose Fran
I said 20 million on the roster, but maybe 30 million on the roster just to make sure. Kentucky went 22 million and aren't getting a good ROI.I'm guessing this will be Hopkins sales pitch:
1) You know and like me.
2) Melo will fund NIL at a top national level. Basically unlimited funds! We will offer the most money to any high school or transfer portal player that I want. I will get the top transfers and top high school talent.
3) Kiyan will stay at Syracuse and I can make him really good.
4) I've learned a lot working in the NBA and all these players want to be told how to make it to the NBA.
5) I will have Melo's funding to buy the best coaching staff and scouting possible to help me.
6) I will take a low salary.
7) My plan will cost 2-3 times less than hiring an upcoming mid major coach and hoping he works out.
8) Currently Syracuse is a mess and has no AD or Chancellor. I don't care who you hire & will take job now.
BTW - I still really want BH over Hop but having unlimited basketball funding for a few years is tempting. It would be funny if Syracuse buying a basketball title forced NCAA NIL changes.
Someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously, or someone who takes themselves way too seriously. What kind of grown man calls himself the Shark?????
Tickets sold is a lagging indicator, especially with long-time fans who worked hard to get their good seats. Actual butts in seats is what? 8k? 10k? That probably ranks close to every other struggling P4.and still top 5 in the country. little old syracuse ny. in reality we were spoiled by the huge numbers we used to get.

We would look foolish in that scenario. Yes I agree. So if McNamara makes it to the Elite 8, we just disregard that completely? The hype around him would be unreal and donors would be stepping up. Seems like a long shot but look at what St. Peter’s did.
At least I'll have more time for other things in my life. My family will be happy that I waste less time on this.I must admit, I didn't see this heading this way. The mo for Hopkins is real. And I wouldn't have seen that coming a few weeks ago.
No idea about that.Melo and GMac famously didn’t get along during the 2003 season. Boeheim had to mediate (I believe it was after the loss to Rutgers that things came to a head).
Obviously that was a million years ago when both were young, immature adults. But who knows if they’ve ever been close.
I'm not getting pre-mad, but if it is Hop, what's the point of giving another dollar to SU? It was a good run. Wonderful memories, but it would be about as clear a move that we're waiving the white flag and surrendering ever being good again. And if we can't compete, I get it, that's the world we're in now, but I have finite time and resources.Count me as another who won't renew season tickets if it's Hop
(I'm moving and wasn't renewing anyway but don't let the BoT know that)

I agree.Even with the most expensive roster in the ACC I don’t see Hop being top 4 in the league let alone getting anywhere near winning a title.
Even with a Giant cash infusion we are never getting more than Duke or UNC.Even with the most expensive roster in the ACC I don’t see Hop being top 4 in the league let alone getting anywhere near winning a title.
Then factor in hiring what could be one of the worst ADs in the country and yeah … it’s fantasy land thinking that plays out as anything but failure.
If any syracuse.com sportswriter has a conscience they would get ahead of this story and expose her NOW. A PR war is the only way to save SU from shooting itself in the mouth.I do greatly appreciate the info you provide. No messenger shooting here. Just sick to my stomach reading what you have to say.
