Depends on what AW does…I would also assume he doesn’t have the same booster support as Hodgson, or even Hop for that matter.
Which, makes the job less attractive…

Don't get ill. I think we all agree that is most likely will be BH. Just that it isn't 100% yet.
OK, I'm back off the ledge. Thanks. LOL. Hopefully better sooner than later on this decision. The 1st step needs to happen soon.Who is saying it won’t happen? I think each of us trying to share info believe Hodgson is the clear top choice. Likely to be wrapped up soon.
I think we all agree. I am scared the powers at be let personal relationships get in the way. No one is doubting Hopkins is a great salesman from a recruiting standpoint. It’s the actual basketball philosophy that scares fans. More ISO, more zone, and more non-shooting.I think he could put a tema together that would generate a buzz but I also think SU needs to go outside the SU alumni/coaching tree route. Program and fanbase needs a fresh start.
Deputy. I don’t care who the coach is so long as they put Devo on the benchWhat about Konrad?
You have to be nuts to base your career on his support.Depends on what AW does…

Great postI think we all agree. I am scared the powers at be let personal relationships get in the way. No one is doubting Hopkins is a great salesman from a recruiting standpoint. It’s the actual basketball philosophy that scares fans. More ISO, more zone and more non-shooting.
That said I am sure the basketball alumni are all pushing it because they all love him.
Imagine how back Syracuse Basketball would be if we got BH as HC and Hop involved in the program somehow. Imagine the NIL support
Option 1 and 2 are viable options. So it’s either BH or bust.I really like Mack but I think with everything going on (AD and up) it will either be Hop, GMac, or BH, that is if I had to guess with about 3 weeks left.
Forget that ever happening.Imagine how back Syracuse Basketball would be if we got BH as HC and Hop involved in the program somehow. Imagine the NIL support
I was going to say Lane Kiffin but then you said “with an ounce of dignity”, so I had to rescind my commentNo coach with an ounce of dignity would ever do that
it's just so crazy that they decided to turn into pro sports but don't allow contractsAt the end of the day all of this is sort of a moot point. The booster funded NIL model is not sustainable but for a handful of programs. Corporate donors have to get involved or their needs to be collective bargaining. I have no idea how this shakes out, but the collegiate sports model is teetering on extinction for many schools.
Ofc, but it’s fun to dream, right?Forget that ever happening.
You should have let the Prince stuff run a little. Purple Rain NIL and the new Orange.Oh, I know that. I was just taking it to the extreme with the Saudi Prince and all that.
Honestly, I’m not sure BH would want Hop lurking. And secondly, my biggest issue when hop was here was talent identification. He could close the sheet out of a recruitment, but he undervalues shooters and overvalues athletes. I’d rather find a way to keep Alex.Am I nuts to think it would be awesome to have Hop as the GM?
Hop being back (not as HC) would be awesome, but I think Kline is a great GM for us. We should be thanking him for helping put together our first NCAA Tournament team since 2021, but the coaching staff wasn’t even close to being good enough for that to happen.Am I nuts to think it would be awesome to have Hop as the GM?
And they know it but I don't think they know what to do about it.At the end of the day all of this is sort of a moot point. Pretty sure that if we hire BH, Hop won’t be here.
Timeline should play out like this:I’m a little bummed because for two weeks in April after Easter, I’m going out of the country. It’s during the first two weeks the portal is open. I better be able to pick up this forum or I’m going to go nuts.
