Regarding the AD hire… keep in mind that the ACC buyout becomes very manageable for all schools by 2030. We’re a couple years away, at most, from disgruntled members being able to make exit plans that are relatively affordable.

If we have an AD who’s ill equipped to deal with that inevitability from day 1 of their tenure, we’re in deep doo doo.

People laugh about Lally University, but is it not that far fetched? They probably have a lot more money thank we think? This is a private university they can change the name if they get some astronomical number.

I can say this with certainty - Melo has a package of $30 million (and growing) lined up for Hop. This includes nba players, local guys and a few that have never donated to cuse ever before. The plan is to front load that money for the first 2 years to immediately become relevant. But that’s what the deal is for Hop from Melo.

It actually does, the Curry Hicks Sage twitter guy was talking about donating for influence and power. Which only gets more prevalent when the positions of powers are held by lame ducks. The situation here is ripe for this kind of activity. Also being a private school there is really no mediator for it at the moment.
