Coach Search Options after Autry

Another morning of 20+ new pages to peruse through over coffee! Yeah!

I usually just skip ahead. This is all I can think of as I read this thread.

That’s what happens when self proclaimed insiders make up or spread unverified rumors
Who is a self proclaimed insider? Over the years some posters have shared information that ended up being true, sometimes it changes (because you know like scheet changes sometimes) and sometimes the info is wrong. Just because you tweet Lally and their marketing team doesn't verify it doesn't mean mean you are right and others are wrong or vice versa. It's up to each person who digests the information if they want to believe it or not.
To me, everything shared is nothing but a data point that is subject to change but it at least, if you want it to helps frame a picture of how an outcome (s) MAY play out. Either way believe or don't believe at the end of the day, it's your choice.

He took over a team that went 9-22 and got them to the tournament in two years and won back to back coach of the year awards. That can be a success and we can still rather not have him be our coach. Both things can be true. We don't have to take a crap on everything he ever accomplished
Just pointing out the fact that in the 2 years he won coach of the year, they went to the NCAA tournament once. So he may have impressed someone, but it wasn’t the selection committee.

I’ll start by saying, I prefer Hodgson to all candidates. But, all of you thinking Red to Hop is a lateral move, I mean give me a damn break. If we beat Hofstra, BC, VT this yr, we are talking about the bubble. It’s not that hard to make the tourney anymore. Hop is much brighter than Red, and with a boat load more money, we can be pretty darn good. Hop will bring in the right assistants. He was trying to cater towards the Washington crowd with his assistants over there. Larry Brown was supposed to join his staff one year. Maybe he’ll come to cuse with him. We will all end up happy with Hop if he gets that kind of money.
Yes to Hodgson or Mack those 2 a truly serious candidates to rebuild a program!

My hope at least is that if things go south and the posse's are too dug in to compromise...

-If BH wins the job. Melo's money at least some of it that was lined up maybe trickles in over the next few years. If BH shows he's the man for the job year 1, I could see former players wanting to be part of the success instead of sitting on the sidelines just stewing what might have been. One positive of this whole Hop/Melo debacle is that they've tipped their hands how much money they're willing to put into NIL. We may have to wait to get it it all but now we know it's there at least.

-If Hop wins the job. The Lally money that was potentially going to be there for hoops can be aggressively pursued for Football. Maybe Fran can squeeze more out of them for football. Like above now he knows there's potentially more there. Let's be real I don't see that family backing down either, they want to be the biggest donors.

I would take option 1 all day every day obvi.

Maybe the DMZ is Lally is the MAN for football and MELO is the man for Hoops NIL if it has to go that way. who knows, Just bantering.

what are the all indications?

i dont get it at all. because they hired Autry?

Well, in the last 60 years, they have conducted precisely ONE national search for an AD or a head coach of a revenue sport.

I'm kind of surprised nobody has brought up Hodgson's ability to recruit -- notably his wife. Boeheim-esque.
Where you been?
Bryan Hodgson. He checks every box for me. 37 years old, WNY native who grew up a ‘Cuse fan, runs a modern uptempo system, & anyone questioning his ability to recruit needs to simply look at his wife.

Be interesting to see how Schertz fits in at LSU if they rehire Will Wade. Maybe OSU, but Diebler isn't a lock to be let go.

I can see him wanting to stay at Saint Louis, but if a bunch of SU boosters want to band together, they should be able to make him an offer that he can't refuse.

I just... these takes that crop up occasionally (that I hope the in-the-know folks see for what they are at this point and shrug off) puzzle me immensely. Folks on here who have access to stuff and are willing to share bits of it make it abundantly clear that a) it's what they're hearing from a particular source that is but a piece of the overall puzzle and b) it's what they're hearing AT THE MOMENT and circumstances often change rapidly.
Like, remove yoursrlf and just don't read the "unverified" sh__ if it's so offensive to you

I don’t think he’s married. On tv they called her his fiancée. I think they have a two month old baby boy and he hasn’t missed a game since he was two weeks old. Does that mean we’ll have daddy ball again in eighteen years?
