Because we're at the point where doing the right thing and going outside the family for the best hire possible is FINALLY here.

So doing the wrong thing again to keep it in the family requires extra-stupid measures, like a massive money and NIL bag to justify hiring an in-house, poor candidate... also, they think they can sell that to the fans.

There’s no slam dunk coaching hire out there for Syracuse like UNC hiring back Roy Williams. Every candidate is going to have their pros and cons. And despite what some think, no “internal” hire is remotely close to Ol’ Roy.

Well, we were recently at a 10 page per day pace. And the earliest Red would be fired is 11 days from now. Then a coach search is announced. So we're probably looking at about 170 more pages minimum.
