Melo called me last night and told me he will give me 50 mil a year for nil to coach the team. My staff will be Jay Wright, Brad Stevens, Bruce pearl and Dan Mullen.

As I said you aren’t the only 1. I clearly said that. Verbatim.
And I don’t even know if I disagree with you.
But if you think a national search is the only way… when almost every hire we have made is a national hire (your post was so ridiculously wrong, I had to question if you even follow Syracuse sports)… and Hopkins is guaranteed to fail? Yes moronic. There is almost zero difference between Hop and any other hire other than what happens after the hire.
If everyone knew how to hire, there would be zero up and downs and everyone would win. And other than OSU football… every program, regardless of sport, in the country has suffered ups and downs.
Our best hire of all time and the reason cuse bball avoided ups and downs for 40 years was a in family hire.
That being said, I’m team Lally and team Hodgson. Doesn’t make me right or wrong. But if Hop comes in with $30 mil, I’m gonna root for the team.
It’s not complicated. Other than hiring coaches is a crapshoot. Nick Saban once said they needed their 9/11. After failing with the dolphins.
But terrible of me to compare something to 2000’s coach. I’m a moron.

Heard from a reliable source(the voices in my head), the leading candidates are Sam Elliott for Chancellor, Snoop Dogg for AD, Bryan Hodgson's Wife for Hoops Coach and Sydney Sweeney for Head Cheerleader.

I'll just say this... these are the exact same words used before we hired Dino Babers.
I agree with the sentiment, but let's make sure there is substance behind the marketing message. FWIW BH has a similar profile to Dino before he got to Syracuse. Before you say but but BH coached at Alabama... Babers was at Baylor under Art Briles before he go to Syracuse.
Not saying BH will turn out like Dino... I think BH is much more aggressive when it comes to recruiting, but it remains to be seen whether he can build a sustainable program. Dino never built a program before Syracuse and we found out he probably couldn't build one period while he was here. Again BH seems young enough and passionate enough that he will build something, but he will definitely be learning on the job.
