I know that I have held back information because why do I want to deal with that crap.
And me I am crap

I know that I have held back information because why do I want to deal with that crap.

RF said that he might leave after year 2. It is very relevant. Where is he going after next year? That was my point. I think it is more likely he is here or in college for 4 years than it is him leaving after next year. If he is good enough to jump after next year, sign me up
Hodgson is certainly in play. Not sure if Schertz ever wasThis thread has gotten long and confusing - at this point are Shertz and Hodgson not viable options? -if they look like dead ends are we looking at Calhoun's son?
Orange Nation floating the $30 million and saying thats a no brainer
Before that I said in the chat on that show if you need $30 million, thats to compensate for your coaching deficiencies and Paulie the clown immediately sees that and disputes it
He then said you give Hop a 2 year contract, if he wins he stays, if he doesnt you find the next
Im sure Hops agent will settle for 2 year deal

I think so too. Seems like he has a turnaround track record, and some fire and attitude. It also doesn't hurt that his bride is not too hard on the eyes. Thanks - from reading here he seems like a no brainer
Oh, I agree because of the limitations.
But I think the Melo camp believes differently. I think being featured year 2 was always the "plan," with a swift NBA jump ensuing.
FWIW, I also believe that Donnie's camp was also viewing him as a one or two year NBA jump -- but the play didn't warrant it.
Walter Alston one year contracts.I also believe Hopkins will make the tournament, it might not be until the tourney is expanded to 128 teams but he'll get us there eventually.
Seriously though whatever coach we end up with if we can't make a 76 team tournament next year there shouldn't even be a year 2 for the guy.
I know this has been said before but dang, the fact that Red has a buyout leaves me with little faith that this is all going to end well. The problem is the season tix renewals and dome home game attendances in that cycle ... They will be losing money hand over fist with each game under that premise of "Red is back". They've already have had to deal with that to a certain degree (and I am sure the bball home game event profitability books are not pretty) and they can't afford to lose a substantial more # of renewals and even sparser attended home games.
Maths.
Plus that ship has sailed and the buyout is queued.
zero concerns, 1) I think most know he's not staying there long and 2) teams don't need HS recruits as muchAny concerns or thoughts on Hodgson having 0 HS recruits committed in this 26 class at USF?
Four years total which includes the current year. C'mon now.Dash he just played a full year, where is getting an extra year from? He only has 3 max left, and that really doesn’t change much about this topic IMO.

He did fine scrambling to put together a roster last off season but a little surprised he has nothing at this point.
Red has a buyout for up to two years. Bryan “the Shark” Hodgson aka Baby Shark aka The Guppy also has a meager buyout. Mike Hopkins has no buyout. Do you think our athletic department has the testicular fortitude to tackle two relatively small buyouts, especially when there is a boatload of money allegedly behind Mr. Hopkins????? The only guppy around here is you and your trolling.Red has a buyout for up to two years. Bryan “the Shark” Hodgson aka Baby Shark aka The Guppy also has a meager buyout. Mike Hopkins has no buyout. Not really a different perspective. More like what most of us think the BOT is thinking. What if...what you need AND want is $30M regardless of what Coach must to be attached to that $$$? Does it matter if the coach is "correct" IF the real goal is the $30M? Is that number so big that "they" can't turn it down no matter the coach attached to making that happen? That's the fear for me.
To be crystal clear, I am not saying this is the case. And this is not meant as an endorsement of going with Hop. Nor is this a justification for taking the money and worrying later (even though I do think that is short sighted). Just offering a different perspective.
he didn't have to recruit or people recruiting against him saying he won't be thereWalter Alston one year contracts.

Talking about Walter Alston, You don't know who he was , right Phil. Don't bother looking it up. Not important.30 million a year you better be recruiting a team full of 1 and dones and be recruiting from the portal every year. And you'd better pray you did get enough during the year that most of your kids get drafted. In this model you will not be building anything just buying a new team every off season. Recruiting starts when the portal opens every year.![]()
Talking about Walter Alston
Different worldsand the last thing I will end with. Success can be slow. Examples:
Coach Mac's first 6 years.View attachment 260544
and Coach K first 3 yearsView attachment 260545
May not want any, if you’re not getting to 30 out of high school you might as well just pound the portalAny concerns or thoughts on Hodgson having 0 HS recruits committed in this 26 class at USF?
