Spending his $30 million war chestWhat was hop preparing for?

I'm still Schertz first based on his longer track record, but would also be very happy w/ Hodgson.I've also gone from wanting Schertz first to wanting Hodgson first. It just seems too good to be true for me, so I'm hoping to hell SU doesn't ffff it up.
This is where I’m at. If we can actually land him, possibly due to his NY state roots, why would we pass him up? He’s going to be one of the hottest coaches on the market, and there isn’t as much competition this year in terms of elite or name brand programs looking for new head coaches. This unique opportunity is staring at us right in the face. Are we really gonna mess it up?Has there ever been a situation that meets this criteria:
-A coach that wants to be here
-The coach has had early success in his career and is actually qualified for the job
-Coach is young in his coaching career, so he wouldn't break the bank in buyout or contract
-The majority of fans would be happy with this hire
Has any search ever checked all those boxes?
It would make no sense for Syracuse just to go against all that. LOL Like, actually crazy.

There are ways to make your pitch if you really want a guy. But you have to have a good network and/or prominent people making those overtures. You think Schertz wouldn’t listen if a Mike Tirico, Carmelo Anthony or JB was calling. But for that, Wildhack would have to get all the SU stakeholders on board with said candidate beforehand, and it doesn’t seem like we have any consensus right now.Good to hear, had heard murmurs he wouldnt even entertain
If Jay says no, then I'm hoping to take a flyer on Jon Scheyer. I'll also take a step down and for settle for Sampson, Self, or Few.I really hope SU can hire Jay Wright. He will give Syracuse at least five good years. At least we can recover to a credible program 100%. Any other young coaches have different degrees of risk to sink us lower.
Jay Wright wants nothingggg to do with the current state of College Basketball. That’s why he left. Otherwise he would be the best coach in college basketball right now. Dude is a stud coach and class act.I really hope SU can hire Jay Wright. He will give Syracuse at least five good years. At least we can recover to a credible program 100%. ? They do not understand college basketball outside of SU
Self's team implode too much. He can stay at Kansas. lol.If Jay says no, then I'm hoping to take a flyer on Jon Scheyer. I'll also take a step down and for settle for Sampson, Self, or Few.
If only it was that easy being a Syracuse fan and having that mindsetGuys, we’re going to hire Bryan Hodgson and everything will be alright.
It's a huge carousel and unless Cuse jumps on the lead pony, we could left in the dust.Could be wrong, but don't recall seeing this posted. Really good read and covers basically everything about the upcoming coaching carousel

Could care less about her opinion for the next hire. A month or so ago, she was basically advocating Red should be retained. We have a better chance of hiring John Wooden than getting Jay Wright to coach at Syracuse. Someone should ask Coach Jack about Hodgson. They should have both been at Buffalo at the same time.
Better yet, ask Fran Brown. Not to put labels on anyone, but Hodgson is similar to Fran Brown in upbringing, long time Cuse fan, energized, similar personalities but with a somewhat established track record of head coaching success.Could care less about her opinion for the next hire. Maybe he has changed his mind. At least we should try.![]()
Jay is not coming here lol
I would be happy if they asked Jay Wright and Brad Stevens and Mark Few and Jon Scheyer just to know that they are really doing a true nationwide search.Maybe he has changed his mind. At least we should try.
The people who want Hop are the same people who go back to the restaurant after it gives them food poisoning.
