Coach Search Options after Autry

If we are doing this right that conversation happens before we decide who the coach is. I fear if we don’t push for that to happen we don’t end up with BH as the coach.

You mean the convo with Melo? I don't think that is possible. Melo wants to win. He would never say well, if my guy doesn't get it, I will still work the NIL hard. That would undercut Hopkins. Plus, i think he would have to be convinced by BH to help with the NIL. I honestly doubt he will.

So, you are making your judgment on people you don't know based on 150 pages on a internet message board. Got it. Well, I do know some people on the BOT. They love Syracuse as much as you do. They want to win as much as you do. Maybe more. Does that mean they don't make mistakes? Of course not. All of us make mistakes. But the decisions that are upcoming will be made because of what they think is the right choice. I am not overly confidant that they will do the right things on the two positions we are waiting on. I don't know. But I don't question that the decision will be because of who they think is the right person for the job rather than just some person they like.

I will certainly question the decision and their judgement if they truly believe Hopkins is our best option. If the board and AD really think Mike is the best choice of all the coaches in the country, it's the Red hire all over again. I'll still hope, but the losing has made me numb really. No need to get worked up or make make my self angry anymore.

I will certainly question the decision and their judgement if they truly believe Hopkins is our best option. This is one reason why it would be nice once the season ends and prior to the ACC tournament, if Syracuse made a official statement on Red. I think that just permits more open discussion and actions to take place. Give Red an option to coach or just have an assistant coach game 1 of tourney.

And, before you fire the BoT, the HC will be selected by the search committee and new AD, approved by the Chancellor, and sent to the voting BoT for fiscal approval.

The successful ones might have a nice life, but the average or non successful ones are just grinding until they get fired.

Look at a guy like Steve Forbes from Wake. His days or years are numbered in a career he's worked forever at. Nice guy, but sometimes they finish last.

What are we supposed to do? We can’t hire him now. If we don’t hire him it feels very much like the powers at be will have made a short sighted decision.

Doesn't need to happen now. If Hodgson keeps winning it can only help us. I hope he's starting to stack up offers from other schools.

I’d be enthusiastic if he gets the call here but I’m not as 100% convinced he will turn it all around as you all are. He and Schertz are the “ Flavor of the month” candidates right now, so I would be happy with either one.
