What about Skinn's resume gives you any reason to believe he could be successful at Syracuse?

Skinn isn't at the top of my list, but increasing his school's win % for the prior decade from 49% to 69% seems like a good thing. Doing it while basically replacing his top players each season even more impressive. Certainly think that playing career aside, he has a much stronger resume than Gerry.

Ultimately none of the candidates we're considering will be successful if they don't have the NIL support, but I think he's inarguably done a good job with what he's had to work with at GMU. If ADBB thinks Skinn is a guy that can help bring in donors, I think he's firmly in the top 5 or so of reasonable HC candidates.

If he declines and we settle for the weakest of the available candidates then the administration and donor class alike can watch it all fall apart in front of them and get a front row seat to what they did. Michigan can get a good look at the kind of stewardship they just hired too….

We need more than personality though. We need a recruiter who can run an offense that will get open looks at the very highest level. I love Blackwell, but I don't think he fits that description.

It might have been a little more than that. Perhaps Skinn was the choice until the last few days. The University has to be thinking now that there is no way to sell a guy like Skinn against a guy like Gerry. If we are concerned about where to get NIL, Skinn couldn't be the choice over Gerry.

NIL funding is metric to measure fan support. That's my guess. We just got embarrassed by Providence. The people who wanted Autry to get a third year should take some responsibility. Everyone with a brain knew he was toast after year 1.5. People can get mad at me all they want but this was an avoidable embarrassment that we may never recover from. People at the top need to own it. What a mess!
