Better job Baylor or Georgia Tech?
I like Matt Rhule as a coach more but man I think Collins got the better job.
While Tech has 2 tough games every year its a better job than Baylor.

Temple is turning into the Cincinnati of the 2004-2012 Era a breeding ground for coaches to get P5 jobs.
Cincinnati had Mark D’Antoni, Brian Kelly, Butch Jones back to back to back all leave for Michigan State/Notre Dame/Tennessee.

Even liars and hypocrites deserve a second chance. A bible-thumper who serially succumbed to the pleasures of the flesh outside of marriage named coach at a most Chtistian university. Is anything disqualifying?
Nothing really new here.
Escort Service stocks in the Liberty area’s recruiting grounds soar on Freeze’s hiring. These urges just don’t fade away because you’ve been caught asked for “redemption.”

Not sure if this is a good move for Ga. Tech. Collins was the beneficiary of what came before him at Temple. Great timing for him, though. He parlayed his limited time in Philly into a P5 gig. Whether he can lead the 'Jackets out of the Triple-Option wilderness remains to be seen.
A small sample size, but they improved record-wise from Year 1 to Year 2. Without referencing any kind of database, I'd say that's getting a solid foundation in place, regardless of whose talent it is.

He seems like a good fit. Will be easier transitioning out of option with a D HC.

I agree. When you look at Collins defensive coaching background and combine that with the great job Rhule (and the Dazzler before him) did bringing talent to Temple I think it'll turn out to be a bad hire.

I'll be surprised if this guy improves on Paul Johnson's record at GT.

Interesting question. I tend to agree that Collins got the better job while Rhule is likely a better coach.

The one caveat is that scandal plagued Baylor will likely offer a longer runway to Rhule while Collins may have a shorter leash and a tougher offensive transition (option to ???).

So whats the count now as far as teams we play next year with new coaching staffs?

Can you imagine the Rutty board meltdown if Schiano took the Temple job (i have no clue if he's in consideration, just saying)

Not sure about that, they have some very wealthy people involved with that school.
Very. My next door neighbors are all in on Liberty. He told me about their football plans a few years ago and let me know that there’s plenty of money to make it happen. They will find a conference, or start a G-6 with some of the other up-and-comers.

Probably the SEC. They would fit there and give the SEC a presence in Va.

Is Scott Shafer ever going to get an interview for another HC job?
I mean he has been at MTSU now 3 years shouldn’t he be in contention for MAC jobs?
He hasn’t even been publicly linked with any HC job.

Yeah this will happen right when UMASS gets the invite to the Big Ten...
Markets. The SEC would love to get a team in the Va-NC region to break up the ACC stronghold there. And they're not going to be able to get an ACC team. That's why hiring Freeze makes more sense because it makes the SEC people take notice.

Yeah the SEC is going to take a brand new D1 team. Your theories are general on but the end of the hot take generally doesn’t age well.
No way the SEC takes Liberty anytime soon.

Or the SEC could just get WVU from the Big XII.
Liberty has as much a chance of joining the SEC as the ACC has a chance of prying Ohio State from the Big Ten.

Liberty isn't just some small christian college. It was founded to be a major university by the richest and most powerful people in evangelical world.

SS committed the unforgivable transgression of yelling F.U. at Dabo, twice, so now he he untouchable do to social media.

This isn’t even funny trolling.
That is why he won't get hired, it;s not trolling. It's sad that an emotional outburst during a game has effectivly ended his coaching career.

Collins will have a tough go in the beginning, those teams are built for the Triple-Option. QB play especially. It’ll be tough for him to keep his job by the time his roster’s built back around imo...

Maybe I’m wrong, maybe he can work it all out quickly. But I think that would be an uphill battle for any coach.

If you actually believe this and I really don’t think you do it’s simply not true.
If it was as bad as you claim Syracuse would have fired him after the game for it.
Shafer isn’t getting consideration because he is a DC and not a HC. Syracuse was stupidly the team that proved this.
