i think 4 of my 18 will be starting... could be up to 6. The great Bill Griffin will be booed everywhere he goes the next 4 years, since he shunned almost every owner here.

I might have 8 of 10 in starting roles. I have already red shirted a RB. I need to check things out one more time before my final say.

I believe if the kid does not play in the first 4 or 5 games, you still have a chance to red shirt them.

I have 3 freshman starters, including my kicker and punter. I guess that means that my team is strong, or my recruiting sucks. We'll find out soon enough!

Do not go by the recruiting class posted by WIS. It's bogus, lol.

bhazlewood has a recruiting report called GD Reports. He does them for every world and every season. He will post this season's report in the Stagg forum area (usually later in the day after the recruits are assigned to their teams). They will be up sometime later today. I suggest checking it out. He does an awesome job.

He has an area for this seasons recruits, your team roster, conference recruiting and rosters. Very nicely done.

Based off his report my team is last in the league... I am 222 out of 228, My optimism has been squashed just a little.

This setting determines how the RBs share time on the field. The first number of the split is for the first position on the runningback depth chart and the second number is for the second position. For example, if you choose the 80-20 split option, then the RB in the first slot will receive approximately 80% of the playing time and the RB in the second slot will receive the remaining 20%. If specialists are set, third down back and short yardage back, then those players are used in those situations and this split is only used in the other situations.
Finally, the split is for the top two spots on the depth chart and not the players. This means that if Player A in the first slot leaves the game with an injury and all players move up the depth chart, Player B, formerly in the second slot, will now receive 80% of the playing time and Player C now in the second slot will receive 20% of the playing time.

Went to my full player roster...helped me tweak my depth chart a bit, putting players in positions based on their ranks...specifically RB/FB, DE/DT, ILB/OLB and S/CB.

ive done SIM things like this before, used to be successful. I have most of the points going to a few offensive and a few defensive formations...

and for individual, i mixed up the remaining money on skills suited to the position. the fact that no one has jumped a single point, makes me question the validity of this game in general. oh well.

I see growth in your players. Go to your ratings tab, the second half of the page will show you how they are progressing. Looking at that I'd say you are not allocating enough practice time in.

I try to use a low end of 8, high of 23, with a couple outliers. There is no perfect science here, because you're sacrificing something for the benefit of something else. If you want your players to grow faster, you need to weight your practice plan heavier to the individual positions. This will sacrifice the formation understanding though. So you have to pick a happy medium for what your gameplan is.

Wish I could give you more details, but I don't want to share exactly what I've done. Even if I did, there is no perfect answer, so it really depends on your appetite.

i guess i dont know where to look. when i go to ratings, i see nothing that show progress or anything like that.

If you just go to your main page (Office) and then click on any player you may see that their ratings have increased...not all players will increases this early...will be something like this:
