Colorado fires Karl Dorrell / hires Deion Sanders

He had the talk with 9 players about leaving. 8 left after the talk. 1 pushed back and stayed.

How many transferred within a year, year and a half. It’s been a while but I seem to recall being down to 50-55 scholarship players at one point.

Don’t recall. Just know how many he had talks with in purging the roster.

This has some of the details you are looking for I think.

I was told they had 31 players that were worthy of scholarships.
I recall some interview where he said as a team you can sometimes get away with being slow or small, but we were both.

They've lost 46 players to transfer, 63 since start of 2022 season

I'm curious how many scholarship players are on their roster today?

By my count 85-63+19 Signed NLoI+29 transfers=70 players for fall camp

They might have room for another 15 going into fall camp

It was way more than nine. I lived with some of them on South Campus.

And I was friends with a staff member. There were 9 who were told to find a new home. I’m sure he met with every player like every coach does. He may have told others they were going to change positions or were being relegated to special teams or they were losing their starting spot or any number of things that caused others to leave. But as to be told specifically to pack their bags it was 9.

“I couldn’t have stayed (at CU),” Page, the former Buffs and Fairview wide receiver told me Monday. “I really wanted to. They said it was just best for me to leave.”

They?

“It was my position coach,” Page replied.

Gross

Why exactly is it "gross"? Because feelings? Cmon, he was hired to come in and turn around a 1-11 team, one that one analyst just earlier this week said they looked "really small" in their spring game. You aren't winning in a Power 5 with a small, slow team.

Because it's not Pro Football (though it's getting closer to that). You're not allowed to cut guys.

Football factories and SEC schools have been cutting, err I mean "processing" guys out for years. Heck, it happened at SU under Marrone and cant argue with the posters recalling that in this thread.

As to what Deion told Mcaffee, there is not a ton of talent in the spring portal currently, so he must be tampering or using back channels to entice guys to enter and come fill the #s void at CU or he is just a fraud with what hes selling to Mcaffee

What a dumb article that was in retrospect. Doug had a roster full of FCS talent, and everyone(except Nunes apparently) knew that. Even dumber was the article they referenced wondering if the program was worse off going into 2010 after the purging than they were under GERG. Funny

Bear Alexander transferred from UGA to USC
His Twitter profile describes him as "Professional Athlete"
Those words are applicable for more and more NCAA level players

Actually they are. Army cut my friend's son just last spring. Literally told him "you've been cut from the team". He could keep his schollie, plus see the link in the post above yours.
People do it-That doesn't mean it's allowed. It's supposed to be a 4 y/r scholarship. There's a difference between telling a guy he won't play and cutting him. I don't know how much longer I can keep following this.

2nd Florida State guy to transfer there. Sure Deion's Alma mater is thrilled with him.

In all seriousness what is Colorado's NIL scene like? Are these kids going for bags or just to play for Deon?
