Crowd

There seems to be a decent crowd of folks down at Armory Square tonight and not all locals. See a good bit of activity at the Marriott Courtyard and Residence tonight (where we are staying). Hopefully bodes well for a decent crowd.

I may be the minority, but I've never loved tailgaiting in big parking lots. I'd much rather grab a pitcher at Chuck's and then stop into Varsity for a couple slices on the way up to the Dome, than sit around in a big parking lot. Less work, easier, change of scenery whenever you feel like it, etc. I like our more unique pregame setup. Stadiums in the middle of nowhere, with no bars or restaurants to walk to and nothing to see or look at but parking lots...that scene gets boring to me.
metlife, or any pro stadium fits the bill for horrible experience for me. i do like small stadiums like colgate cornell lafayette and lehigh etc.

Yea, I'm not sure how I feel about it. My kid got seasons for 6 games. Now 1/3 of those are free. I like that the student crowd will be better, but maybe they need to do something for those kids that already paid for these games. Tough call as both a parent and an SU fan that wants the biggest crowd possible.
definitely i would be pissed and there should be some sort of comp. offered by the university---you already pay enough

Hopefully they make noise whoever is in there, the dome was so dead last week.

It was quiet though I think the student section did a good job, once we were up 40-0 I get it not as much need for noise.

I'm gonna sound like the negative guy here, but I don't like this. A number of students already purchased seats, right? If I was a student fan and did I'd be pissed that everybody else was let in. Really, if you're not inclined to get season tix at the student rate in the first place, free admission to wake at noon isn't gonna actually make a difference anyway.

What they should do is roll the cost into student fee and let all in "free" every game.

Possibly, Parents probably bought the tickets...when I was ad student I only wanted a loud crazy crowd they didn't run freebies but I would have been ok with one.

There's a lot less than there was last week. Hardly any students here 20 minutes before game time. It's the smallest crowd I've ever seen.

I could throw a grenade into the section across from me and wouldnt kill anyone

this is rich coming from you. You belly ache about lowering prices in the good seats after you already ponied up

It has become the 'thing' to do in CNY ... Not go to games and blast the program for everything (including small crowds)

If Syracuse can't get 30k in seats for this one it's embarrassing. First acc game... Must win game...

No chance 30k is here

Don't go 3-9 and 1-5 at home in 2014 and you would have a better crowd.
Yawn. Crowd sucked last year and they came off a bowl win. The city of Syracuse is pathetic.

Are you there right now?
I'm not In Syracuse. There's no excuse for people who live there to not spend 10 bucks and go to the game. So you can go ahead and kick rocks

Give it time for Pete's sake, the crowd rarely fills in until late in the 1st quarter.

Basketball school. Get over it.

And it's a joke to give students free tickets anytime midseason. You do that you better refund the ones who paid, period.

I had season tickets every year I was there obviously and it's bs to give free tickets to those who likely don't have much invested in sports anyway.

If you're not there yourself you shouldn't be chastising people how to spend their time and money.

There are plenty of reasons not to go. I don't live in Syracuse but when the weather is actually nice, would I rather enjoy the short time left of nice weather in Syracuse or go watch a bad team play football and deal with traffic, overpriced disgusting food, and watered down beer?
