I think it would be a bad hire. Dabo is an excellent College coach because he is a heck of a recruiter. Clemson excells because of his recruiting and his OFF and DEF coaches X&O's. Dabo to me is not an X&O's coach and thats what I believe coaches are hired for in the NFL. I just feel like Dabo's best coaching ability is to connect with the young guys and I don't believe that would translate to the NFL were the players have more say and listen less.

Just hire Eric Bieneimy and call it a day.

I tend to agree on all of that. There is an ego element to succeeding at the highest level. He's going to get to a point where the expectations at Clemson are stupid. Championship or bust. I think this allows him to get his NFL fix and ultimately that Alabama job will be looming once Nick retires.

This smells like the right transition for Dabo. Maybe he enjoys the NFL, not recruiting and succeeds there.

NFL is about the players. College is about the coaches. He can effectively hand-select his roster and 1/3 of his opponents. Can't do that in the NFL.
