We can only put them in the league if they stay with us however. If Duce were fortunate enough to make the NFL, for example, he’d be entering as an LSU Tiger. No one will ever even know he played for SU the minute he suits up for LSU this year unfortunately. If you mean we become a school that a player should stick with because we offer a path to the NFL as readily as any other school, then, yeah, that is the hope.
Actually, what’s silly is, it’s already the case. The NFL will find talent wherever it exists. Just as the NBA will. If you are good, it doesn’t matter where you play. I personally think it’s sad that people are swayed so much by brands, which is essentially all that schools like LSU and tOSU are. These kids have grown up with educational approaches that favor brands.
I hope Love isn’t after LSU or plans to use SU as a stepping stone. That would be unfortunate and silly. After all, my example, Duce, most likely only become an UDFA rookie before getting cut, only to have to live his life as something other than a professional football player. That’s the most likely scenario for him. I hope Love commits and sticks.
