Well, I guess that settles my concerns a bit.

Wow what a well-crafted commitment statement. Very glad to have Mr. Nelson onboard!!

He even got the name of the school right. University of Syracuse will be crushed when they hear the news

Gonna have to fight hard for this one. Hope we can hold here!!

Based on what? He looks seems pretty firmly committed.

if kirby smart wants this kid, oh man, we might have ourselves a good one. Come on Jaquwan, shut it down.

as long as he doesn't visit one of these schools this weekend we're good.

If Nelson leave to UGA then White is all the sudden a massive recruit for us.

If we can hold onto Nelson all of the sudden we have ourselves a very talented, young D-Line that had some good offers out of high school in Clark, Pickard, Slayton and Nelson

The way you are talking, it seems as tho we have already lost this kid who just committed to us 3 days ago, let keep it positive in our favor.just saying.

Don't forget the two suspended kids. They're pretty talented too, if they can get their heads on straight.

I try to be positive but the Bulldogs will be tough to hold off. Hoping we can and if anyone can it is Dino!

If Kirby Smart offers Nelson he is going to Georgia.

I agree. Trying to be optimistic but I have to be realistic. White might replace him in the class which isn't a bad thing.

Are you guys just feeling the usual Syracuse pessimism when it comes against battling the big boys, or is there information out there that leads you to believe he's been wanting to go to Georgia?

Nothing has said he wants to go to Georgia, he wouldn't have committed otherwise. BUT, should he make it to their campus this weekend, all bets are off.

For kids growing up in the south, all they hear is "SEC", "SEC". From TV, radio, recruiting ads on billboards*, etc.. Sure, there are occasional references to FSU, Clemson (plus Miami, and GA Tech in Atlanta), but SEC references dominate. If you receive SEC scholarships they would seem hard to resist... even if you might not get much/any playing time.

* I'm in Atlanta and see football recruitment billboard ads from several SEC schools each year.

okay, but why? Because it's Georgia?

Fair enough. I just dislike seeing the "well, if so-and-so SEC school or upper echelon ACC school offers, he's gone." That's not always true and we've won a few of those recently.

No, because if he does it means he's taking another visit and because it's an opportunity for another staff to poach him.

I don't really care who school "x" is, I just always hate to see a school "x" with the last look.
